My wife and I heard about this place from a friend, and when we planned a trip to see Alhambra, we booked a room. The owner (Manuel) is very helpful, replying within a day to my several emails asking questions. His assistant met us at the place where our taxi stopped and helped us get our bags the rest of... In this trip we tried to stay in different styles of hotels. In our stay in Granada we choose this guesthouse, Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol. The access is not easy if you have too many bags. Sr. Manuel helps all the ways: carrying the bags, giving good advice about the city and its attractions. The Tower room is... More

A beautiful guest house - Manuel, the owner lives next door. Could not have been better. In a quiet street on the same hill as the Alhambra but the opposite side. Manuel is hugely informative about all the sights of Granada, helping to get you tickets, informing about bookings etc. He takes great pride in all aspects of the 'hotel'... More

A lovely hotel on a beautiful City HOWEVER!!! The owner Manuel asked me to contact him on our arrival as it was going to be extremely difficult to maneuver our car into a parking space. He asked myself and my wife to get out of the car as he would drive and park our car himself. He promptly started my... More

Although listed as a hotel, this is a fine "carmen"—house of several levels with gardens and patios—beautifully decorated that feels like an exquisite B&B. Except Manuel, the owner, does not live in it but leaves its living and dining areas open for guest use (honor system) and enjoyment. He does greet you and introduce you to the property and explains... More

We stayed at Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol for 3 nights in October to allow easy access to both The Alhambra & Granada town centre. We flew into Malaga and due to time constraints took a Taxi to the hotel: 170 Euros. Granada Airport is much closer, however there were no flights that suited us. The Taxi driver eventually... More

Host is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Manual is ready to give you specific info about where to go and how to get around. He's seen more than a few tourists and will make sure you avoid problems! The location was perfect with an easy walk to the Alhambra, yet it was a quiet refuge from the crowds. We were able... More

I stayed three nights at this cute little B&B. The public areas of the hotel are extraordinarily pretty, decorated with flawless taste and gifted with huge windows overlooking Granada. I stayed in the Palmera room, which was a comfortable size for one person; it overlooked the breakfast terrace, so I was a little concerned I'd be woken by noise from... More

After just having returned from a five day stay here in Granada, it us difficult to be certain that ones opinions are entirely balanced but here goes. When you book, and you're coming by car, you receive a detailed email giving directions to the hotel. Follow these to the letter and it's easy but be warned, Granada is a rabbit... More

We stayed three nights and had the "La Glicinia" room which had a beautiful terrace. It is a very short walk to the Alhambra and easy to walk to the city centre even though a bit of a climb back but that is why we had such terrific views of Granada. There is bus transport nearby. Manuel was a wonderful... More
