We decided to splurge on the Generalife Suite at this hotel and were so glad we did. Our room on the top floor had windows on three sides with gorgeous views over the river Darro and the Alhambra. The architectural lines of the hotel are traditional, as is some of the furniture, but other aspects of the design are more... More

This hotel has a stunning location as it's main advantage, but to add to that, the rooms are well appointed, spacious and comfortable and the place has a wonderful character and style. The library has useful information and books to share and is a welcoming place to share a complimentary drink. The theme of the hotel is delightful and tastefully... More

We arrived at El Ladron de Agua hot and slightly harassed with a baby and a lot of luggage in tow. As soon as we opened the door to this hotel we knew we had chosen well. Located in the Albaicin quarter directing across from the river Darro, it has been designed in the traditional Moorish style, evoking the sense... More

This is a lovely and charming hotel which is perfectly located for many of the tourist destinations in Granada. When we arrived we were dropped off by our taxi on a narrow cobbled street, with the hotel on one side and the river on the other. The staff are incredibly friendly and showed us to our room called "Frederico Garcia... More

The hotel is housed in an old building with lots of character. The room was comfortable as interior was totally rennovated but in a manner to preserve the old charm. Bathroom amenity was just adequate but whatever was supplied was of a good quality. (I always bring in my own hair conditioner. Wondering if European people don't use them?) As... More

I stayed at this hotel last June after staying at a less stellar accommodation in 2011. This stay was very good as the previous one. The location is a top selling point; it is very convenient to the Alhambra as well as many lovely tapas bars and other restaurants in the plaza nueva area. Also 3 minutes walk from the... More

We strictly forbid smoking and are sorry that the previous guest was so inconsiderate. Out of deference to all our guests and our historic building we hope that guests will respect this ban. We are glad you otherwise enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you on your 3rd visit! More

We stayed at this hotel. it is an excellent hotel with a very personalized treatment. If you like literature and knowing about the area you are visiting from the point of view of the cultural values of the region do not look at any other place just book a room here and then discover what this place offers.

"El Ladron de Agua" was the perfect hotel for us. We arrived by car which we left in the parking house "Puerta Real" (that's probably about the closest you can get) and walked up to the hotel which took us about 10 minutes. Really no problem at all! "El Ladron de Agua" is centrally located in a street next to... More

We spent 2 weeks in Spain and this was our favorite hotel. We stayed for two nights. - Excellent location by the Plaza Santa Ana and easy (though uphill) walk to the Alhambra and the Albayzin / Sacromonte area. - Quiet hotel with quiet rooms, no need for earplugs or eye mask - AC worked just fine - Many channels... We had a wonderful overnight stay at this hotel on a brief visit to Granada The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and our room was very comfortable and cool with a beautifully tiled & well appointed bathroom. The location is very good and within very easy walking distance of the main tourist areas. Get a taxi (6 euros) or... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A building from the 16th century has become a hotel, taking its spirit from the essence of Juan Ramón Jimenez’s journey and his poems. Its privileged location in the heart of Granada, at the foot of the Albayzin; its rooms bathed in the light of the Alhambra; its colonnaded patio; its lounge, vestibule and well/cistern… all these charms will lead you to the sound of water, and to a peace that will give you inner harmony. ... more   less
