The Carmen del Cobertizo (Arab. karm, vineyard), is a typical garden setting found in Granada , which is composed partly of a garden and partly of an orchard. Encompassing the garden walls you will find intense green ivy with rich flora. Placed on the foothill of Albayzn, this hidden gem will offer you a charming viewpoint from which you can admire the beautiful scenery and colorful panoramas. more » « less

This was a lovely gracious hotel about a twenty-minute walk from the Alhambra. The hotel looks like it was converted from a large house in an ancient part of the city. We stayed in the second floor bedrooms, which were comfortable,. We ate breakfast in a beautiful walled and shaded garden . The staff at this hotel was friendly, accommodating... more

We have just returned from week -long stay at Carmen del Cobertizo duting which we were joined by our 3 grownup sons and their partners. The hotel was perfect in every way. Once we stepped over the threshold though the big wooden door we were in a different world. a world of quiet tranquility and old fashioned hospitality. All our... more

This hotel is beautifully decorated and full of charm. It is a two-story building with rooms for guests facing the interior atrium. The home used to house many families in its separate rooms, and the welcoming reading room once was where the families' animals were kept. The original water fountain is still in place in the middle of that same... more

We booked this hotel based on the rave reviews. We were a little disappointed. The staff and were very friendly but so they should be at the price. The breakfast on our first day was very poor, the second day improved but the third day fell back again. The position was great and the view from the suite towards the... more

We stayed at the Carmen del Cobertizo for 3 days in May. We found the staff very welcoming and attentive and immediately felt comfortable and at home. We booked the Alhambra suite and, although the view of the Palace was excellent, I do have to say that I did not think it was worth the price we paid for it.... more

I was looking for somewhere special to take my mother for her birthday and to be quite honest we could not have found a better place to stay. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful and the owner and staff are just the nicest, friendliest and most helpful people you could ever find. We booked the Alhambra Suite and while it... more

Really does feel more like a home than a hotel. The owner and her husband are incredibly welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. As other reviewers have already noted, the manager Ana is one of the most charming and helpful people you could ever hope to meet. The view from the roof terrace is fantastic. We booked the suite... more

While we didn't have an amazing time in Granada (aside from the Alhambra, there's nothing to write home about compared to Cordoba or Ronda), Carmen Del Cobertizo was an oasis of calm. As mentioned before, Ana is terrific, especially given the fact that the owners (who live in the house) don't speak English. The place isn't cheap, but the atmosphere... more

We had a great experience at the Carmen. First off, we were greeted by Ana, the manager. She is absolutely the nicest and most gracious host imaginable. She greeted us with water and a glass of wine, and was always available for restaurant recommendations. She also speaks fluent english, which helped since our spanish really needs improvement! The hotel is... more
