We stayed at the Alixares Hotel for on night in July... I was not expecting a lot, but I was very disappointed with the hotel and the service.... The hotel looked tired and so did the staff... Clearly this hotel is relying mainly on its location... But it is definitely a 3 star hotel at best. This hotel is geared... more

We stayed at the Alixares to participate in the Granada music and dance festival, where we performed at the Alhambra. It was very close to the Alhambra, although climbing the hill back to the hotel was very tiring. The food was, simply put, awful. If I had to pay for it, I would have been very upset. Granada is overflowing... more

Lovely hotel, great location, helpful staff, beautiful view from our room, which was on a high floor as requested in our reservation. Nice pool, delicious reasonably priced breakfast. Some reviews have mentioned that the hotel is often busy with tour groups; the night we were there, we didn't see this, and the hotel was much prettier than expected. more

We stayed at the Hotel Alixares at the beginning of June for a few nights. It was a great easy location for visiting The Alhambra, my reason for visiting Granada. It is on the road (narrow road, not noisy) leading down to the Alhambra, just 5 minutes walk to the entrance. If you arrive with a car, just park outside... more

We stayed for two nights at this comfortable hotel. It was easy to locate - just follow the signs for the Alhambra! Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food at breakfast and dinner was of high standard. Our room was spotlessly clean and the views from our window over the snowcapped Sierra Nevada were stunning.Granada old town center was... more

Porcel Hoteles has three hotels in Granada and one in Madrid, and we chose to stay here because we had enjoyed a short break in the Hotel Ganivet in Madrid. Hotel Alixares is in a prime location, as a 5 to 10 minute walk downhill brings you to the Ticket Office for the Alhambra, and the Generalife gardens. There are... more

Entrance and reception good but room somewhat tired and would benefit from updating as would the cafe/bar. Internet access in room free but signal not good. Its location is ideal for visiting the Alhambra across the road and that would be the only reason for staying there. Restaurant facilities were very poor, as again it was a buffet using low... more

Hotel Alixares is like staying at your mums house - the decor might be a little olde worlde but the service is always there and the comforts of home are never far away. The place is reassuringly simple and has everything you need, and offers excellent value for those wishing to focus their stay in Granada on the Alhambra -... more

We stayed at the Hotel Alixares during our two day visit to Granada. If you are there to see the Alhambra, the location cannot be beat. It is literally a five minute walk to the entrance gate. This hotel is VERY convenient if you are driving. You pull up, they take your car to a private lot and you never... more

I booked this hotel because we had a car and the parking charges were okish at 13.50 a day and it was easy to find from the motorway. Its a good hotel, the staff were friendly and spoke good English, they parked the car for us and helped me make a booking for the Arabic baths (recommended). I only ate... more
