Stayed at the Carmen for four lovely days in Granada. First up is the location, you can't get much better than this, a leisurely stroll away from the city center and with views across to the Alhambra and right opposite an El Corte Ingles (doesn't get much better than that. We had a suite which I have to say compares... more

Go while the roof top pool/bar is open (and don't leave bad feedback if it's shut because its out of season - they clearly state when it will be open) - it has gorgeous views. An excellent hotel right in the centre of Granada. We had a very good room price. Not sure it's absolutely 4 star as the decor... more

We spent 3 days in Granada as part of our honeymoon. The hotel receptionists had all the charm (read sleaze) of used car salesmen. The lobby area will deceive you into thinking the hotel is nice but as soon as you get to the room floors, it looks like a seedy hovel with dirty makeshift curtains as dividing walls etc.... more

Both my daughter and I loved our time at the Carmen. The airport bus (3 euros) took us to a stop about 100 metres from the hotel and, although we arrived late morning (with the idea of just dropping off our luggage before setting off to explore the city), we were allowed to check into our superior room. Other reviews... more

We were lucky, we got one of the refurbished rooms (Superior rooms), even though I paid just 50 Euros a night and was expecting one of the dreaded tatty rooms! In general not a bad hotel and I feel it just about gets its 4 stars, could not find the English tv channels, and the fridge did not chill! The... more

I reserved two Superior rooms for myself, wife, and 2 children. I requested adjoining rooms but didn't think this hotel had them based on a previous review. Upon check-in I was pleasantly surprised to find that we did in fact have adjoining rooms, one of which was a corner room (street facing) that was quite a bit larger. With the... more

Hotel is fab. Its right in the centre of Granada - you do not need a car as everything is right on the doorstep. The rooftop terrace has spectacular views over Granada and there is a plunge pool to cool down in. Its a little bit dated but everyhting else is fine. Our room was a good size and very... more

We found this Hotel to be nothing like some of the negative reviews that have been logged. The Hotel was clean, tidy, and in a central position for all the city attractions . The room was up to four star standard ( Based on staying in many hotels across the world ). Friendly staff, and very good service. Roof terrace... more

This hotel is certainly not worth its 4 star rating -- a tired, old hotel and kinda creepy. Everything costs extra -- security box and Wi-Fi. The Web site described a jazz bar which wasn't open and also described the beautiful terrace that also wasn't open. I moved to the Hotel Christina and was much happier. Also checked out Hotel... more

This hotel was a dissapointment from the moment we set foot in the lobby. First you feel like you've been transported to Miami Beach in the 1960's. Faded fabrics, ugly chandeliers and the musty smell that lingers wherever you go! The rooms are even more horrible! The extra hard beds and fraying bedcovers were enough for me to tell my... more
