We too booked this hotel based on reviews from Tripadvisor after being unable to get reservations at the Parador. I had some fears after reading many of the negative comments. We however have only good comments about the front desk staff, the wait staff and the porters. The hotel lobby and common areas were meticulously clean and the view from... More

The hotel is only a 10 minute walk up a forested hill to the entrance of the actual Alhambra. And for us, the location was everything: We tried to book direct tickets to the palace on line a few weeks in advance of our visit, but the park was sold out during our stay. However, there are a limited number... More

Check In - Helpful lady (originally from Miami). Porter outside - unhelpful, grudging in assisting where to park the car, and only half wished to help with unloading the bags. Standard room -Medium to small, basic, and smelly. Bathroom - Very basic - long time for hot water to come to the shower and when it did alternated between luke... More

This hotel is VERY convenient, it is quiet (at least so in early June), and our accomodations were very comfortable. But ... the service in the dining rooms was poor at best. At dinner our waiter just disappeared after taking our order, and we eventually got service by corraling another waiter. In the bar, with its wonderful view out over... More

We chose this hotel because we wanted a first-class experience and the Parador was booked. We were willing to pay top dollar, and boy did we! We expected and accepted that it would be over-priced, but we were not prepared for the astonishingly rude service. It wasn't an isolated incident. In fact, we didn't have a single positive experience with... More

Very disappointing hotel. The smell in the room was like an outhouse, wreaking from the bathroom plumbing. So we changed rooms, and guess what? Same smell!! The front desk then did nothing. It was really intolerable to stay in the room. We managed to survive by keeping the windows wide open. Other features of the hotel: Mostly tacky decor and... More

I was reminded of The Shining during our stay in late January. The place was so quite, I felt like Jack Nicholson walking around the floors. Roof locked, seating areas practically covered up, restaurant closed (at least hard to find anyone to help us), etc. I expected to see a pair of twins on Big Wheels riding down the halls...so... The Alhambra Palace has long been a Granada favorite of mine. The service is good, the people friendly, and the location perfect for visiting both the Alhambra and the downtown historic area. The breakfast was not great, though the bar is very pleasant and romantic. Views are not of the Alhambra, but are nice enough, overlooking some of the palace's... More

Granada was the first stop of our 9-day Andalusian trip in October, 2006. We picked the Alhambra Palace Hotel for two reasons: location and style. As we were only in Granada for two nights, we wanted to be as close as possible to the Alhambra, our only planned activity for those two days. We also wanted to travel "in style"... More
