Family of 3 (4 year old) stayed for one night & the reviews are right - Ignacio & team do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. I've never stayed anywhere friendlier or more helpful. Ignacio arranged discount parking for us, discounts in local restaurants, excellent directions and tips on what to visit in town, and even produced a... More

Very shabby but quite clean. Badly needs an upgrade! Owners very friendly and helpful. We booked a double but got a very small single with two single beds pushed together. Shower tiny with minimal facilities. Barely room to move! Only one small folding bedside table and a lamp which did not work. The oldest television I have seen for many... More

Really nice place in the best of locations. Easy to find and close to all the tourist attractions. Great service by the owners, super friendly and ready to help out at the least request. Super bakery and eco restaurant just around the corner for easy dining options. Great value for the price.

This place was a find. Just 5-10 minutes from the cathedral and just around the corner from the bus to the Alhambra. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and even through the woman hardly spoke any English and we spoke little spanish she managed to impart all sorts of really helpful information to us. Our room and bathroom were... More

I am pleasantly surprised by my visit in El Zaguan - the rooms are extraordinarily clean, towels are ready, beds are made everyday. Most importantly, the owner Ignacio is amazingly nice! He certainly made my visit even better. It is true though the room is a bit noisy with traffic outside. Nevertheless, that's a trade off between convenience and noise... More

The hostal is very central and has private parking although it is difficult to get into. Everything is simple, clean and comfortable. No food but Granada is full of good bars and cafes with free tapas when you buy a drink (alcoholic usually). We have stayed previously in several different hotels in Granada and will return to El Zaguan. The... More

You stay in a building of character, in a charmingly furnished and decorated room. Your host and hostess are kind, very friendly and helpful. There's no catering but with many good bars and restaurants close to hand, starting with Bodegas Espadafor at a couple of minutes round the corner, that's not a problem. I wouldn't dream of looking elsewhere in... More

The room was adequate and very clean. The owners bent over backwards to accommodate us. We are a retired couple traveling on a budget. Would recommend, but not for more than 2 people. Rooms are small. But who cares. We were not in Granada to sit in the room!

This place is in a good location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The host is very helpful with a map and recommendations for cheap places to eat. Like Bodegas Espadafor round the corner where breakfast was €1.70! Rooms are clean, shower curtain couldn't be used as it swung under the hot water, but towels were replaced every day (they'd... For the price, you can't beat this place. It was clean, unique and located very close to everything. Ignacio and Maria, the proprietors, were amazing people. They were not only hospitable, but very helpful with recommendations.
