We spent three nights at Granada during our trip of Spain last December. When we arrived at the station we still had mixed feelings about the city, as the itinerary was based off Tripadvisor and Lonely Planet reviews and the likes, till we reached El Granado. Right of the bat it was this homely but beautiful place - a pretty... More

we were a group of three and they gave us a 2-room appartment for a price below a regular hotel room, quiet and spacy. the hostel is located centrally but in a quiet street and has something cozy about it. the team has a good attitude. this is not a luxury place but all the essentials are well handled and... El Granado is a small run hostel with a few well equipped apartments situated near the cathedral and a short walk from many of the main attractions in Granada. The owner was a mine of useful information and took time from his busy day to sit down with us and share some gems about places to visit (and avoid), little... More

We have spent three sets of stays at El Granado and find it a great place to be. The owners are very helpful, and friendly, rooms are comfortable and clean, the common room area has good facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. El Granado is close to Granada's centre, yet is in a quiet area, and is a safe place to... More

The hotel is great. So nice and helpful people. Very nice wooden rooms with tall roofs and small toilets. The AC worked perfectly. Nevertheless, it should be cheaper, due to the lack of elevator and the selfservice, selfattending and selfcleaning breakfast service.

Thanks for your comment Edurne. Breakfast offered cost 2,50€ extra and is optional. Being in a 600 years old building, protective heritage laws prohibit us from installing an 21st century elevator. We are sorry you felt that breakfast was too expensive and that the lack of an elevator was a setback on your total experience. More

I stayed here in September with my partner. The location wasn't good and is a long walk to the Alhambra and old town centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Studio room was big and spacious and reasonably clean but the main downside was the noise. The studio room is located at the front of the building and all... More

Granada is a university town with almost a third of the population students. Even though El Granado is on a fairly quiet side street (no bars, no traffic etc.) and we have double glassed windows, being in the city centre, sometimes, especially on a weekend, singing students on the street could be a problem. We are sorry it happend to... More

Greg, and Freddie (a wandering Swede), ran this youth hostel and were most accommodating and engaging. For instance, we arrived in Granada with no tickets to the major sight, the moor-built Alhambra. Nothing was available online nor at the Ticketmaster outlet, so Greg recommended a journey up the road to Alhambra early in the morning since they routinely sell 600... More

Only stayed for one night, but had a great stay. Clean facility, kind staff. Close walk to everything. Walked to the bus that takes you up to Alhambra and it was an easy distance and simple directions.

This place is easily one of the best hostel's I have stayed in over my last 5 years backpacking and travelling the world. Every little detail had been thought of to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, whilst keeping affordable. Freddy obviously has a passion for the city and loves sharing his knowledge with visitors, to ensure... More

I just guessed the routes were good for running, I´ve never run a Marathon in my life and the thought scares me. I´m sure you did well on the Marathon, I was very impressed by your effort. Take care of yourself. More
