This was by far the worst hostel we have ever stayed at, and we have stayed in a favela in Brasil. We had to wait outside the hostel until after the siesta time even though they said they would be open. The private room was literally just big enough to fit a double bed in, we had to sleep with... Me and my friends stayed in this hostel for two nights during our travels around Spain and we were very surprised by the friendly and laid back atmosphere. Great hostel with a chill terrace and very nice and approachable french-speaking staff. The location is great and possibly the only fault I could find was that the lockers in the rooms... More

I'm an italian guy, I went to this hostel with my friends for his high evaluation on TripAdvisor. Upon our arrival, the first surprise: none of the staff speaks Spanish, in a hostel in Spain: they all speak some French and a bit of English. When we arrived at 13:00 a barefoot girl went with us in the dormitory with... More

A decent hostel, friendly and with a nice atmosphere, the free breakfast is a nice touch and a good way to meet people. Could be a bit cleaner and definitely needs another bathroom but the price and location make up for this!

Really comfortable and nice hostel, not too big nor too small. All the time very interesting people from all over the world, made a lot of new fascinating friends whom plan to meet one day for sure ! Hostel had a lovely terrace, cozy small family style atmosphere and lovely, really helpful staff, who even showed us around the town... More

I was sent here by another hostel as I had stupidly booked the wrong nights. Luckily there were beds to spare here and I was made to feel welcome immediately with a beer, some serenading on the guitar and advice of where to start wandering. There is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere which some might find too relaxed, but for... More

Stayed in Maktub for 4 days in May - enjoyed my stay - very easy to meet people and very nice communal atmosphere at breakfast and on the terrace during the day. The hostel is in a great location on the edge of the old part of the town and the facilities are pretty good given it´s age. Highly recommended... More

Had a great time, freshly baked bread for breakfast and Kenny made a great tour guide. Slap bang in the centre of everything for the backpacking Granada tourist. Real multi-cultural crowd and helpful and fun loving staff.

We stayed there for two nights. The guy working there didn't speak Spanish, so we were able to communicate only in English. He gave us a map and a calendar of events. The room was dirty, cold and small with an uncomfortable bed and an old armchair. It was too cold in the hostel and not enough blankets for such... More

I'm 52 years old. I took my 22 year old son to Granada. We were on a budget, but I also wanted him to experience a hostel for the first time. Maktub seems to attract a slightly mellower crowd, and is not a party hostel. We met a lot of wonderful people from all over the world, ranging in age... More
