I am a big fan of Sol Melia hotels and am even on their loyalty card scheme. We paid 4 star prices for the Principe, reading that it would be a 4 star hotel after renovations finished in May. However I did not feel this hotel was 4 star standard. The public areas were very clean, the pool areas were... more

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend, 12-14th June to celebrate my birthday. Have stayed many times at this hotel, the first time being in 1979 and have seen many changes. On arrival found reception staff as always very friendly and helpful. Love the makeover the hotel has undergone, the outside of the buildings, pool areas and... more

I went to the Sol hotel Principe the first week in June this year with my two year old, four year old and my mum. We stayed in the apartments but went half board which I would highly recommend with children. The food is fine and you will always find something to eat, at the end of the week there... more

My husband and i stayed at the Hotel Sol Principe from 3rd to 10th May this year. We found the staff to be most welcoming, the accommodation Superb, room cleaned and towels changed every day. All areas, Foyer, Bedroom, Dining Room and Bars were spotless. We were on half Board and food was excellent, well presented and plenty of choice.... more

Welcome to my review of the Sol Principe. I stayed here with my mum for 5 days from 20.05.2009-24.05.2009 We were looking for a nice quietish hotel with a few bars around at night to enjoy a glass of wine. Good...Now the rooms are big and roomy. (Room 3319 is where I stayed) standard "Sol" style. Twin beds, satellite TV,... more

My wife and I stayed at the Sol Principe near end of May Mon - Fri, booking through Flyglobespan, for a chill-out break. We selected the hotel after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and have to say, the majority got it correct! The Sol Principe is very large, but still manages to avoid making you feel annonymous. We were given a... more

7 days from Edinburgh for £250 - now that is a deal and it was half board. Food Self service - get there early as they cater for 1100 people which rises to near 2000 in Summer. Food not 4 star but okay if you are not a fussy eater. Rooms Small but adequate and clean. Had a pool view... more

Had a miserable stay here in may. We paid for 4 nights but checked out after 1 night. Allocated a room in block2 at rear of hotel and everything seemed fine until opening balcony door.We were met by the sound of a jet engine coming from the kitchen extractor below. On returning to reception we were told that it would stop... more
