We booked a double bed, got two singles, which were nailed to the wall so couldn't be pushed together. There was glass on the floor by the bed and under the bed, after the room had been cleaned. Although it was essentially a self catering studio apartment, there was no kettle. The room had an air-conditioning system, which was very... more

I don't know how El Pinar was awarded the 4* accreditation but it certainly does not live up to its' stars or description. No spa/ jacuzzi - closed for refurbishment, but we were not informed. Food basic. Dining room kitchen basics is zilch. e.g. dirty cruet sets (when you found one), plates with dishwasher baked food still on majority. The... more

Arrived at the Hotel and had a frosty reception at the reception desk. We could tell straight away that it was more like a 2 star then a 4 star. Room was ok but certainly not what you would expect from a 4 star, electrical wires loose and chipped tiles. Went down for breakfast disgusting to say the least, the... more

We were looking for somewhere as a base to explore the area around Malaga. We had convenient direct flights from Aberdeen. The rail terminal at Malaga airport made getting to the hotel easy costing 1.25 euro per person. Station La Colina is 4 or 5 stops from the airport and takes 10 minutes. El Pinar hotel is visible from the... more

Pools and pool side cafe good, this place has potential; unfortunately it needs a facelift. We stayed in a shabby appartment with smelly drains, uncomfortable beds and noisy road. 90 % ot the guests were retired Spanish which should have been disclosed when we booked, we are a family with 4 young kids, so we didn't fit with the overall... more

Arrived at the el pinar at 21;15 .Facade looked fine.On entering the building there is a very pleasant reception area. The clerk... more

The hotel is about 5 mins from the airport so dont be ripped off by extortionate taxi firms it should cost approx 10 euros. We got there in Jan my 2 sisters and I. The hotel is central to beach and town. There were 2 beds and bed linen for 3 people. We stayed in the self catering apts. The... more

I would have gone for a overall experience rating of "Terrible" had it not been for the level of service my family and i received from the cleaning staff employed by this so called four star hotel. Upon our arrival we were given directions to an apartment that, once found, still had cigarette smoke wafting around inside it. The 14"... more
