After reading many excellent reviews decided to stay at this hotel. There is no doubt that the location is excellent with the beach on your doorstep and the old town of Marbella with its many beautiful restaurants right across from the hotel. We stayed at a side sea view room and it was certainly only average quite dark in fact... more

Booked a suite facing the sea, spacious, clean with a good sized patio and a wonderful view. Excellent staff, good food, traditional entertainment every night. The beach club offers delicious sea bass. A slow ten minute walk and you're in Orange Square. A great place to stay made all the better by the kind and considerate staff. I was even... more

Went to this hotel for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The hotel is spotless, the room was very adequate with a nice balcony . Breakfast had a big choice with a buffet breakfast and also Cava wine if you wanted it. Would definitely come back again as you cannot beat the location of this hotel. It is less than... more

We normally don't re-visit hotel venues but have returned to the El Fuerte seven or eight times in the past 10 years. We just find it totally relaxing. The staff are friendly and courteous (although this year's innovation of making all staff wear garish orange and lime green ties were a bit over the top). The latest innovation this year... more

I stayed in the El Fuerte recently with a large party of golfers. From check in to departure the service was excellent. The selection of food for breakfast was as good as i have come across in any hotel with a super choice of both hot and cold food including freshly cooked omlettes and eggs. The bars staff were always friendly... more

My wife and I have just returned from a Thompson Holiday at the El Fuerte, and thought it was a great hotel in an excellent central location on the beach front and a few minutes walk from the beautiful old town centre of Marbella. We had a free upgrade to a side view (of the ocean) room with balcony, and... more

Having spent months reading reviews of lots of different hotels on the Costa Del Sol and scanning through websites and pictures, I decided to go for Marbella and the El Fuerte. I cannot believe all the negative reviews this hotel has had and the fact that some of them almost made me change my mind about booking it! The hotel... more

We have just returned from 3 nights in this hotel and had a lovely time. Like the previous reviewer I was caught out with the tea bags, but noticed after opening that the minibar price list included the tea bag, coffee and creamer box. The only milk source available is a powder creamer. However it is quite unusual to provide... more
