Plenty of reviews about the quality of this hotel and it is very clean, grand and has large grounds which are very tastefully done. But, and its a purely personal point of view I found it a bit pretentious. I dont like being issued with a dress code in the room saying that I cant wear trainers to dinner...that was... more

I stayed at the Don Carlos with my daughter in May and forgot my brand new Prada leather jacket. After receiving confirmation from the hotel that they found it the day after I left, I immediately sent my credit card details and waited for the jacket to arrive. After numerous calls the front desk told us that the courier had... more

We could only afford to go because we got a good rate on a website. The full and hotel discount prices are huge, and costs at the hotel are also - so we cooked for ourselves in a fabulous villa, and ate at the restaurants in the area. Our inclusive breakfast cost 10 Euros per person for delivery. But the... more

In our opinion, the hotel reflects most of what is said on other reviews here in both ways, good and bad. I would agree with one comment I read that it cannot in any way be classed as being in Marbella, however we knew this when booking, only on arrival did we realise that it is somewhat more remote than... more

This is the third time i have stayed at the Don Carlos hotel, and it was even better this time. We stayed in the newly Villas, which were amazing. The private pool has plenty of space around and having a young baby who was crawling around, it was perfect. The villas themselves are beautifully decorated and spacious, we were supplied... more

Just Spend 3days at the Don Carlos on Business, and it was 1 of the best hotels around. The staff were very friendly, lovly grounds everthing was clean. Rooms are nice and big, with a decent size TV. The Venue is stunning, with so much to see. I stayed on the 12th Floor, and the views are amazing! Main town... more

I and my 14 year old daughter stayed at this hotel in August 2008.This hotel is not in Marbella, its OVERPRICED, OLD AND HAS A DIRTY SEA AND BEACH. First, when we arrive, we were proposed to a room without balcony (but we payed for balcony also), and the manager stressed that there's no room available at the moment, but... more

The only good thing about coming in the off-season is that you avoid the crowds. However, a lot of the amenities were closed such as the Beach Club, Nikki Beach, and many of the restaurants onsite. However, upon arrival, they immediately upgraded us to one of the Deluxe Villas....for FREE!!! I don't know if it was because we were honeymooning... more

we spent ten days at the hotel this august, three families with loads of children covering most of the age spans ! be warned the outside of the hotel looks horrid, once inside the reception things look up with modern low sofas on highly polished marble floor. also be warned about the bedrooms, the standard ones literally have no view,... more
