I stayed at D. Carlos for a week in peak August season. The hotel has huge rooms and generous bathrooms which are nice and clean. It has 3 different swimming pools, 2 of them that actually attract kids, leaving one perfect for swimming - which is good in case you only travel with your partner. Food is excellent, priced at... more

We didnt stay at the hotel but went to their beach club (NIKKI BEACH) to check it out. We had been there a few times some years ago and had loved it. It is now overpriced and run by unprofessional waiters that think they can get by with their good looks and their bad manners. They treated us terribly and... more

We had a business trip to this hotel. This was my first trip to Marbella. It seemed like there was very little around the hotel that you could walk to. However the hotel itself was extremely nice. The room was large and very clean with a flat screen hotel. The bathroom was large and clean and you know a hotel... more

We've just come back after 3 nights stay at the Don Carlos (wished we'd have booked 5 nights!). We were staying in a 2 bedroom villa which was gorgeous and still very close to the hotel complex and facilities. We would definitely go back but don't think the cost of the villa's is justified, we'd have had just as nice... more

We have just returned home from this hotel and can honestly say it is OVER RATED. It is definitely not a 5 star hotel and the food is just average. The cheapest pizza on the lunch-time menu was 14 euros and the cheapest wine was Vino Sol for 20 euros. The hotel has no soul and the staff are just... more

Was here for a conference. I liked it as a conference hotel and it might suit for a long weekend away with you're other half/kids but not for a week or more's holiday. Rooms are very good, but important to get a seaview i reckon (4th floor upwards). Food was very good generally. Liked the swimming pool and the beach/beach... more

We found a great rate for Don Carlos Hotel on Hotels.com and stayed for a long weekend. The hotel advertises as a 5 star but I don't think it's quite that - maybe a 4 star. Upon check-in, we were given a room which overlooked the parking lot and could be seen into laterally by guests staying in rooms with... more

Spent Saturday night only at Don Carlos, knowing that Nikki beach is great fun on a Sunday. The facilities in the hotel are excellent, granted it is a bit pretentious and I wouldn't bother eating here, the food is rubbish. The heated pool is fabulous even in slightly cloudy May. The gardens are stunning, lots of nice touches. Very modern... more

Just back from a short holiday break. This year we stayed at Don Carlos, just 7 car minutes from downtown Marbella. It's a nice hotel with a great beach club and pools. The beach club area had a great design. You can choose for a sunbed around the pool (€15.-) or beach (€10.-). Your not only receive the bed and... more

Went here for the weekend and found a big conference was on. Lots of drunk people and even a guy walking to reception in his underpants, nice choice of boxers! food and drinks were pricey and i wouldn't recommend the restaurant. The weather was unfortunately poor otherwise i would have used the extensive facilities. The rooms were really nice and... more
