I wasn't going to bother with a review seeing as it would only re-iterate what others here have written about the Maestranza. And I booked my stay here on the strength of said reviews. Just to point out really that the staff are very, very nice. The rooms are gorgeous and clean. My balcony looked down on the corrida at the back of... more

Staff provided very friendly service, which was really relaxing given that service in Spain can at times be shockingly rude. Room was very good. Housekeeping was excellent. Our view was excellent. The location was amazing: very short walk to the beach, close to main attractions, and the walk to the main shopping centre is through a gorgeous park adjacent to... more

The service at this hotel was fantastic. The staff were polite, helpful, and friendly. We arrived after a long bus ride and a pretty long hike across town from the station on a very hot day. In summary, we didn't look or smell very good at that point. We got there before check-in time. They were very polite, held our... more

I couldn't fault this hotel but we were careful to get a room at the back (the front overlooks a busy street and a roundabout). The rooms are good, very well tidied and cleaned every day. The room safe is great and our bedroom looked out at the bullring and old Malaga, great. Malaga itself is no great shakes but... more

We have just returned from city break at the Maestranza hotel. The hotel is in perfect location. Not too close and not too far away from city centre. Just few minutes from beach and in walk distance from all interesting buildings in Malaga. The staff there was very friendly and helpful and professional. We enjoyed an evening in jacuzzi, watching... more

This hotel was in the absolute best location for us- close to the beach for me, close to the historic part of town for my husband. Our room was nice, and we were ecstatic when we pulled open the drapes and realized we were looking straight across at the Alcazaba. We spent our days sleeping in, grabbing a quick bite... more

We stayed in this hotel in July 2006 for 12 nights. The hotel seemed nice when we arrived, but had a bad incident there. We accidentally left 400 euros in cash in the pocket of jeans and went to the beach. After we came back (an hour later) the money were gone. Of course I could put the money into... more

This hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained - with a modern theme. It's a bit characterless-more a business person's hotel in design, although there were plenty of holidaymakers there. We had a junior suite -which meant a larger room & bed (the bed was enormous!) The bathroom was great with a powerful separate walk in shower & jacuzzi bath.... more

We stayed at Hotel Maestranza for our honeymoon from April 30 to May 5. The hotel upgraded us to a junior suite at no charge. The room was beautiful, marble, hardwood, very modern look. Jacuzzi, waterfall shower, and the balcony had the mediterranian sea to the left and the gibraltafour wall and cathedral to the right. The staff were incredibly... more

I stayed there for one week and found the hotel was spotless and staff very friendly, even booking us a taxi to the airport without asking them. We stayed on the second floor and our only complaint was there was a club underneath the front of the hotel that went on till 6 am some nights, and you could hear the bass... more
