Stayed for a fortnight at Easter but mixed review. Not a four star, just a 3.5 at best. Lacks charm & seems to run like a budget hotel with no shower cap supplied in room & deposit daily for towel for spa area etc. Appreciated efforts of cafe/bar staff - both the lady & Manuel were friendly & welcoming. We have spent 2 weeks travelling around Andalucia, staying in 5 hotels, and this one is the best. It hasn't the most beautiful view, but we enjoyed looking out on to the docks and further up the coast and the room was huge! The bed was very comfortable, we had 2 comfortable chairs (you are fortunate to get one in... More

Really nice hotel, close to city centre with frontage overlooking the port. Rooms OK and quiet, food OK but coldish if you prefer English type breakfast. Reception area spacious and efficient staff who were very helpful for arranging a taxi transfer to the airport.

It was really easy to find as it was on the front by the docks. The staff were fluent in English and really helpful to any request, including bringing up an iron for my bf. The double bed was HUGE and I had one too many seistas, very comfortable. The aircon was silent and worked well. Lots of space for... More

We stayed overnight and had to leave at 4 am to be at the airport for our flight. From the moment we arrived until leaving, we found the staff to be friendly and most helpful. Our room was extremely well maintained. The food we had in the restaurant/bar was well presented and tasted very good, and again, the staff were... More

I have to admit that when we arrived we were tired and a little underwhelmed with the hotel and its location. Monte Malaga is not located in a particularly scenic area of the city. We stayed 5 nights including the start of the holy festival week starting Palm Sunday. The processions are amazing. We were a little disappointed with the location of the hotel looking onto the commercial port. We had a sea facing room on the 4th floor and noticed the road noise: leaving the AC on at night helped.
