I stayed here in Sept. 2014 with my wife. The hotel has a great location right in the center of the city. It's about a 5 minute walk from the entrance to the entrance to the Alcazaba but its location is really the only good thing I can say about this hotel. I had originally booked the room for about... Right in the heart of the historic centre of Malaga. Only stayed for one night and room was perfectly adequate. Grateful for air conditioning as it was very hot in the city. Provided with shampoo, shower gel etc hairdryer, tv and fridge. Beds extremely comfortable had a great nights sleep. Alvoronso on reception was charming and extremely helpful. I had... More

Location is awesome since all the main sights in Malaga you can almost see from the doorway of the hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable. There was a mini fridge for water and such in the room. Since the hotel is located in the heart of the tourism finding a reasonably priced place to eat proved to be difficult... More

I stayed here for one night in a small single room on the first floor. The window opened onto what I can only describe as a lift shaft, minus the lift, which was dotted with air conditioning units that rattled and hummed into the early hours. So there I was on the first floor of a four-floor building scarcely able... More

I stayed for two nights here and was very pleased with my room. The single room was very clean and quite spacious, the bathroom also very clean and modern. The location of the hotel is excellent, right behind the cathedral and next to the alcazaba. It is within walking distance of pretty much everything and for the price I paid... More

This was my third stay at Carlos V...You cannot beat its great location.. ! Right behind the Cathedral..on a lovely pedestrianized street filled with cafes and restaurants for eating.Since my last visit they have now added a mini fridge in rooms which is a big plus and they have fixed the downstairs siting room will a large T.V. and made... Rooms were small but clean with modern amenities. The provided beach towels. The location is the best part.. Located within walking distance of city center. Staff was very nice. We ended staying 5 days in Malaga instead of the two of our original plan. We loved being in the center of town.. So many restaurants and bars. And the parking... More

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay in the middle of the historic center of Malaga and are not very picky, this is it. The rooms and bathrooms are small, there is nowhere to place your soap unless you put it on top of the toilet, the shower curtain was not easily managed and if not careful... More

Stopped at the Carlos V in June, firstly the location is excellent. Round the corner from the cathedral and amphitheatre. Plenty of bars and restaurants near by, 5 minute walk to the marina. Plenty of picturesque views. The rooms at the Carlos V are fantastic for value, cleaned each day could not complain. We spoke with 2 different gentleman at... More

Excellent location in the old town. Just a few minutes walk from the port and beach. Very helpful reception staff. This is a two star room only hotel with plenty of eating options in the vicinity. Our room was compact with a modern bathroom.
