We stayed for 2 nights in May. having selected the hotel from previous Tripadvisor reports. The journey to the hotel is a bit of a nightmare, signposting and VERY windy roads, but the location is worth it. The rooms are fairly basic but with fabulous view, clean and comfortable. The public rooms were characterful if a little shabby, and the... more

This is a lovely building, a comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting. During our stay we met people from many different countries, (even Spain!) and all types, from tourists and families to cyclists and well-heeled weekenders. The website sends you round the 'long' way, (presumably because you'd never find the right road if you came up through Malaga) but actually... more

The setting was wonderful! The staff friendly and the atmosphere delightful. BUT, there was no heating (and it was really cold), the food was so-so, the bed (in the suite) was hard like a rock, the room was dusty, dusty, dusty, the smell of the wood stove (in the suite) was bad, there was a big hole in the ceiling... more

Indeed a delightful respite for a mature couple. This setup of a provincial "Parador" gives the hotel of a feel of more that just a rural hotel. The staff were delightful, food excellent and the location wonderfully insulated from the hubbub of Malaga but easily accessible. more

Well run hotel nestled in a valley in the Malaga mountains. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the style of the hotel is very cosy and in keeping with its surroundings. Lovely walks around the hotel and it is also a good base for day trips into the Axarquia. At night it was fun to feel holed up... more

A wonderful haven upon arrival in Andalucia! I arrived in Malaga at 9pm, rented a car, and headed to the hotel. It should have been easier, but I didn´t get clear directions before I left. It took me over an hour of mountain driving, stopping three times with very limited spanish to ask directions (locals were very helpful), before I... more

We read about this hotel in John Butler's book "Birdwatching on Spain's Southern Coast" and decided at once that this is where we would stay on our first night to avoid the bustle of Malaga and be at the centre of the birding action. And we were not disappointed. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport, as you... more

The setting for this hotel could not have been more tranquil or peaceful. The rooms were delightful, furnished with antiques and the lounge area was welcoming. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The only down was the food - breakfast was fine, but the dinner rather uninspired. If the restaurant could up its standard this hotel... more

Fantastic location for this hotel, set within a valley 15 miles out of Malaga. We were disappointed that the (small) swimming pool was empty, no explanation given although Spain is experiencing its worst drought for many years. Nice clean room, although a little on the small side. Owner was friendly but didn't say much. And the food was poor in... more
