Overall, I liked this hotel alot. Stayed here for 2 nights and would stay here again. Positives: Friendly reception and quick check-in. Got a map and advise from reception throughout our stay. Good size room and a nice, clean, good sized bathroom. Bathroom included complimentary shower gel and hand gel (both big bottles attached so hardly used my toiletries), toothbrush,... more

The Tryp Alameda is literally located in a shopping mall and is good for people who like to travel back in time and experience the style and comfort of the early seventies. The staff are not overly friendly and you won't find friends for life amongst them. The first room that the front desk assigned to us was not made... more

We stayed here for a weekend to watch Villa play in the Peace Cup 09, the hotel was a good price as we got 3 nights for price of 2 through last min.com. Rooms were clean and well furnished, quite modern. Location was slightly out the centre but you can easily walk into the main area or get buses, bus... more

We stayed here because of the location near the train & bus station and it was only a 10 minute walk into the old town centre. A big modern shopping mall is right next door. Room was a good size & having internet access (at a reasonable cost) was a plus. Great buffet breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Storing our... more

Stayed for 5 nights while using Malaga as a base for exploring South-Eastern Andalucia on holiday. Hotel is a business style hotel, had a large double room which was well appointed and very clean. A/c worked well and double glazed windows kept out traffic noise. Buffet breakfast, included in my rate, was fantastic, apart from a distinct lack of decent... more

We stayed at this hotel between Christmas and New Years Day. Unfortunately the staff did not seem all that friendly or willing to answer any questions. When asked where the bus station was, I was told it was behind the hotel - which it was - but no extra information was forthcomming. We were told that breakfast was until 11:00... more

Pity about this hotel. Yes, it's modern, clean, with nice, large rooms, and reasonably well situated for Corte Ingles, Malaga Ferrovia station, and the old town, but the traffic noise!!!! We had a room in the front, third floor, and though it was Semana Santa and we paid double the normal rate, it was a waste of time, because the... more

I don't know where TrevorH stayed, but it certainly wasn't the Tryp Alameda. The hotel is nowhere near the docks; it's at the rear of the Larios Centros shopping mall in a good part of town. It's also within a short walk of the bus and RENFE stations. A great hotel with spacious rooms; fully air-conditioned, minibar, TV with English... more
