Parador De Malaga Gilbbrafaro was the second Parador that we stayed at on this trip and it was very nice. The service was good and the food at the restaurant was enjoyable. Juan was the food server and was very pleasant and took care of the customers. The rooms were large and they had a great view of the harbor.... More

Wonderful views, helpful staff, superb breakfasts, especially the jug of excellent coffee brought to the table by the efficient breakfast waiter, no need to struggle with a machine or drink its undistinguished product. We prefer to eat other meals down in the town, but for b & b it's unbeatable. If one of you is 55 or over, check out... More

Maybe it was because we visited on St Valentine's night and the staff were making a special effort but we really couldn't fault this place at all. Having visited 5 paradors on this trip to Andalucia we have no doubt this was the best. There was a friendly welcome with a glass of cava, a beautiful, large room with balcony... More

This parador enjoys a great view over the harbour but the positive stuff stops there. The management seem to rely on the stunning view to sell rooms (it works) but they don't bother much after that and I would think that repeat business is thin on the ground. There are some positives, the site is stunning and there is parking.... More

If you value a fantastic view and quite luxury this is the place. It is very special - you are right in the city - but above it - in a park on a hill. Above the crowds. The view is breathtaking. Bort from your balcony and the small pool.

We booked a trip to this expensive apparently top class hotel for a friend's birthday in February 2015. The staff were cool and service perfunctory at best; whilst clean and comfortable i.e. good beds etc the hotel was bland and unloved. There was some confusion about who was in which room and the staff were unhelpful and unapologetic. The bar... More

Of all the paradores I have stayed at so far, this was the worst. Stayed there over Christmas Eve and had dinner there. The restaurant where they were serving dinner, had this loud music on. We could not talk. Everything was been served in a hurry, as though they were longing to go home, which was understandable since it was... More

In case you want to stroll about town late and return to your hotel by foot why it is centrally located in the middle of town, this certainly is not your place. But if you like a typical and atmospheric hotel with great views, a nice, spacious and clean room, a very good bed and a quiet sleep at a... More

We chose this hotel for the wonderful views of the harbour and city below . Our room was spacious with a balcony table and chairs facing the harbour and old town. The breakfast had a superb range to choose from , the only bad point was the coffee , not up to Spanish standards . We had lunch sitting on... More

We chose this Parador because of its great location atop the mountain overlooking Malaga nad the coast below. The rooms were average . The restaurants were both excellent and offered the same great views. The actual fortress was located above the hotel. There was a walking path that led down to the city below. Consider skipping the hotel and visiting... More
