Hostelworld states their check-in closes at midnight. I arrive later than planned, at 20:00, to find no staff at reception...a guest told me they leave at 19:00. I was still charged for the stay. When I asked the hostel about being charged for the night, I was told they waited for me but as I did not arrive at the... More

If you want cheap clean accommodation then this is the place. I went there with three buddies and checked into a room with three single beds. You can tell that they must have refurbished the place recently as all the walls were recently painted with the beds being new and furnishings looking sparkly, exactly as the pictures portray. Great hotel... More

It is hidden in a little alley, but it is very close to all the things you will want to see. The rooms are very cool with Ikea-like furniture and colorful ambiance. It is cheap to stay. The rooms are big! And staff was very, very nice.

We arrived on friday morning at the airport - we rented a car (don't do that - very difficult parking and in the historic center you are not allowed to drive so we didn't really use it - there are several trains and busses which drive to the center) You found the hostel very easy and at the reception there... Down a quiet street close to the centre of Malaga La casa Mata Central feels more like a hostel than a hotel but that’s certainly no bad thing. The rooms are light and airy with brightly coloured feature walls making the whole place feel rather fun. There’s a small kitchen facility where you can use the hotels teas and coffee’s... More

Dark Cave with no windows, wi-fi did not work, walls were like paper, could hear other people chatting next room. Helpful staff, would not use this place again, even thought location was good, and parking very reasonable close by ( 19€ for two nights).

Great experience of this hostel. Homely decor - great power shower in the shared bathroom and free tea and coffee in the shared kitchen. Very friendly, helpful staff. I can't fault it for the reasonable price I paid. Convenient location for Malaga centre; all sites of interest in walking distant, yet not in an overly touristy area.

Not too far from front of Malaga, Get to it via passing (or calling into lot of cafes, bars and shops. Owner very friendly. Breakfast is usual continental type., but plenty of it. Had a few card... Although Malaga is not the tidiest town and one would expect a hostel there to be something of the same kind, La Casa Mata is a pleasant surprise. Guys who run it really care about the place and its visitors. The hostel is comfortably located on the quiet strreet 10 minutes walk from the historical centre, nicely designed (modern optimistic... We arrived at Casa Mata early and were allowed to keep our luggage there until check in, which was a massive help. Upon return, we were checked in and given a map and recommendations (all in fluent English) by one of the incredibly helpful and friendly members of staff. We were given the double room at the front (best room,... More
