During our travels through Spain, we often come back to Malaga, we've tried many of the hostels in the area but the hostel we keep coming back to is the the Residencia Backpackers. The staff are very helpful, talkative and a pleasant to get along with. The rooms are clean but can be a bit cramped, there are plenty of... More

Stayed sometime in August 2014. There's no fan or air con in the room. Though the directions stated that it was "near" to the bus station and a 15-min walk, it is not. It is really far from the bus station (close to 30 mins) though you are walking towards a straight direction. The cupboard was broken, and the lights... More

Extremely dirty and smelly place. If you don't mind the fridge being full of rotten food, stains on your bed and dead insects on the walls, then you might be quite happy with your stay at this hostel. However, if you're hoping for a budget but still decent and clean place to sleep, then go elsewhere. The worst hostel I... More

The staff is very good they speak great english and will help you in any case. The hostel creates a community within, we went to the city with forty year old brittish men from the hostel. Everyone sits in the common room and talks to each other. The staff organizes walks to the city for all people. I highly recommend... More

Such a great group of people both customers and staff alike. I felt welcome the moment i walked in the door. Everyone chills in the common room together sharing food, drink and stories, playing pool, watching films or listening to music or just relaxing and reading. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and comfortable, the kitchen area is fully... More

I had a great time staying in Residencia Malaga Backpackers in malaga. Everything was awesome! The location is absolutely perfect, near all the good places in malaga. Friendly staff, friendly guests. It looks like a hotel but with a hostel price! I love malaga....

As I often find is the case, I end up in random cities looking for work to fund my continued travels. En route towards Malaga I looked on line and booked the cheapest hostel I could find for a few nights while I found my feet. Now, over 2 weeks later, I´m still here and still being very lazy about... Friendly staff, very well equipped communal room with free use of PC's. Free Wifi and a very cheap shop nearby for drinks etc. Again, not central (3km from centre) but is a nice walk there or you can get a bus if you wish (very easy to find). For 7 euros a night you can't compain! If you want to... More

Not the best hostel I have visitied. If possible avoid it. Book another one with the same or more money. The location is far from centre and not the best to walk alone. The room was not clean and the room door could be opened with any actually.

I'll say this: go too this hostel only if you can't find any other place. there's nothing very much wrong with it besides it's far (3 km from the center) and mosquitoes would eat you alive during the night. it's simply the fact that you can stay for the same money in cleaner hostel with better service.
