Upon arrival we had to carry our bags, once in the reception, staff was very rude and unprofessional. We were told that the hotel was empty and we were the only customers in there (weird!!!!). In our way to the suite, we were welcome by cockroaches in the corridor over the carpet (disgusting!!!). 15 minutes waiting for our luggage. At... more

The service is excellent, the rooms are divine, and the food fantastic. Although prices are incredibly steep ($30 for a club sandwich), we ended up leaving the hotel for most meals. I recommend for any traveller who stays in Estepona to rent a car and explore the coast. It is NOT worth it to sit around in the hotel. This... more

To quote Warren Buffet "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get." Or maybe not get! This is an hotel that will charge you a price that is probably the highest on the Costa del Sol, but that gives the worst value of any hotel that I have ever stayed in. It used to boast a fine Asian... more

We recently stayed at Las Dunas for three days to celebrate our wedding anniversary and by all accounts this resort deserves its five star rating and Leading Hotels classification. There's a bit of a James Bond feel to the hotel with a range of supercars parked outside and opulence around every corner. The hotel itself offers a combination of excellent... more

My wife and I stayed at the hotel at the very beginning of September for 1 night whilst attending a wedding close by. In my opinion, this is one of the best hotels along this stretch of the coast and the only one to be listed in the 'Leading Hotels of the world'. We know this area very well as... more

On arrival we were shown in a poorly located room (despite an expensive direct booking) - looking over the car-park in front of the hotel to one side of the suite. Room (family suite that is) was dark and not very attractive though there was a patio. Bear in mind there's no nice garden view except some rooms in the... more

We have just returned from a 4 night break here. We were really looking forward to staying at the hotel and whilst the hotel is stunning, both location wise (albeit a little isolated) and the rooms and buildings the service left much to be desired. We stayed in a garden suite and couldnt fault the room and amenties. A bed... more

The third time we stayed in Las Dunas (the first time in October 2003, next in June 2004). Although it was our third time, we were not recognised, not even as members of the Leading Club - maybe because it is Sofitel management now. We were recognised when we stayed here the second time. The hotel is located about half... more

I stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed every minute of it - the fantastic restaurants, the great ambience, relaxing spa and best of all the Saturday night flamenco show. Wonderful more

We stayed at Las Dunas over Labor day weekend for 4 nights. The Malaga-Estepona area was much more built out and comercialize for my taste. The hotel is pretty with nice landscaping and a beautiful pool. Unfortunately there were not enough chairs around the pool. Our room was a 2 bedroom/2bath and it was very large and perfect for our... more
