Casa de Huespedes Santa Maria is unique. On entering we were immediately taken by its individual charm and quirky decoration. The owner, Carlos, was welcoming, always happy to help and very cheerful. The rooms are of a good size and were kept very clean and tidy. The breakfast was good and all this for a very reasonable price. I stayed... More

If there was a charming Etsy hotel in your neighborhood, this would be it! Miriam is a trained interior decorator so the ambiance is warm, colorful, and makes you feel at home. I was taken by the scent of candles that you might find at an Anthropologie shop. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable about P Santa Maria and the nearby towns--so... More

This quirky and charming family-run guest house was perfect for my overnight stay in El Puerto mid-November. My room was on the ground floor at the back of the house, so not much light from the row of small windows just under the ceiling (presumably opening onto a patio), but it was brightly decorated in primary colours against white walls... Small, very cozy hotel. The owners are very nice and welcoming and speak English. The decorations and style of the hotel and rooms are great! Every detail is thought of. Close to restaurants and close to the terminal for the catamaran to Cadiz. And not unimportant for a hotel: the bed was very comfy!

Great, excellent and sweet retreat from other hotels. Extremely friendly owners who are very helpful. Perfect place for day excursions to Cadiz and the city. Free Wi-Fi in most rooms. Great internal design. I would recommend this place to everyone!

A little wonder to share, Carlos and his staff made our stay there perfect. Refurbished old house, with a perfect style, nice room with private or shared bathroom. Our room was very singular, with private room and a little balcony to street (a little noisy at weekend, but nice anyway). There is a "patio andaluz" in the middle of the... More

Our room was a double room with our own bathroom. The rooms in the hotel and the decoration are creative and wonderful. The staff was very friendly and obliging. But we had a problem with the terrible smell in the bathroom. Because of the stench we didn`t sleep well. We suppose, the reason was the flowing.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Santa Maria Guest House is in "the heart" of El Puerto de Santa Maria, a Very Old City in Andalucia. It is known as "the city of A Hundred Palaces". Our House is a typical "andalusian house" built in 1885 and contains all the original features. It has been recently refurbished in a very tasteful manner incorporating an atmosphere of "shabby chic" and with peace and tranquillity for all to enjoy. Each of the 10 rooms is furnished with "rest" always in mind, and where some of the bedrooms have their own private bathroom and with 2 rooms sharing a bathroom, as we want you to feel that this is your "Home"!. There is a beautiful patio/courtyard of which is typical of Andalucia, and leading from the patio, there is a little reading room full of books and magazines and in the kitchen there are facilities to cook. We provide assistance and information for all our guests and are only too delighted to help you plan trips to beautiful "Cadiz", los pueblos blancos (the white villages) and visit places "off the beaten track". We want you to enjoy your stay with us, so that you have memories of an unforgettable experience as we want to see you here again and please, tell your friends. ... more   less
