This is a small Moorish style inn in the lovely "pueblo blanco" of Vejer de la Frontera about 30 minutes from Cadiz. It is much better to stay here than Cadiz, as you are closer to some truly spectacular beaches and the town itself is as charming as they come in Spain: Onto the hotel: though it is indeed a... More

After climbing the many steps to reach El Cobijo, we were greeted by our host Jesus. He quickly told us we could upgrade our room at no extra charge if we wanted to. He showed us our booked room, which was quite small, but well equipped. Then showed us two other rooms, both had roof terrace and outside seating areas.... More

I can't say enough about the owners Jesus and Marche - very helpful by email beforehand, very attentive and sweet during our stay but not at all intrusive, provided us with an umbrella when we said we were going to the beach, gave me one of those mosquito plugs when mentioned I needed a pharmacy for my bites, and made... A great find, a quirky place with great views of the town. Our room was spacious and well equipped with a small fridge, kettle and microwave. The decor had a North African hippy vibe. Our hosts were polite and attentive yet not intrusive. Breakfast was excellent with home made bread, pate and preserves. It is a nightmare to find and... More

This was my favourite hotel in my trip because of a combination of the wonderful staff, the lovely breakfast, the beautiful decor and charm of the house, the amazing town.. This hotel is the best. There were amazing views of the town from my room. The hotel lent us an umbrella for the beach which was incredibly useful and appreciated,... More

We chose this lovely small apartment hotel in Vejer because of the reviews and were not disappointed. We were very well looked after by Jesus and his wife. The room with the terrace looking over the town is absolutely fabulous and the breakfast has homemade local produce, all very tasty and well presented. A memorable place to stay in a... More

We were two couples traveling for 3 weeks in Andalucía, staying at eight different places - all wonderful, but the "Cobijo" was the most charming of all. One evening we prepared ourselves a simple dinner and drank wine on the terrace (off the Xaouen room), and then retired to the charmingly-lit, sheltered U-shaped bench sofa overlooking the lights of Vejer... I stayed one night at this hotel, it is very romantic, very hygienic, a very nice breakfast, the owners are very nice. It also is situated in the middle of the romantic city. The owner gives you tips where to dinner. Also I have to mention that the hotel is situated in an authentic southern house with a patio, before... More

We have visited Vejér several times but never stayed over night. We found El Cobijo de Vejér on the internet and decided to book a couple of nights. We were definitely not disappointed. On arrival we were met by Jesus, the owner, who met us at our car and helped us with our bags up to the hotel. He also... More
