The location ist very cool and you meet lots of friendly and cool persons. Besides the cooking at 10 o'clock p.m. there are many oportunities for aktivities. In the evening it is a litte noisy but don't forget you stay in a hostel and this is buiseness as usual.

5 Euro dinners every night were very good! A local bar owner took us for a walking tour of the city with lots of knowledge of the history and fun spots about the city. At the end of the 1.5 hr tour of the old city she asked for any free will donations for the tour(seriously no pressure to pay).... More

Very good located, good service and clean. The worst thing is: they have many common areas and instead of keeping them for leisure (like the living room couchs or the terrace hammoks, for instance) they use them as extra-bedrooms. As a result, it is overcrowded; at a certain time even restrooms collapse too.

Went here 3 years ago and just knew I had to come back. Was not dissapointed when I did! The staff is extremely warm and welcoming and besides keeping the place clean and tidy also makes sure theres cheap beer in the fridge for you to buy aswell as offer a cheap but delicious home cooked meal on the roof... We stayed in der double room for two nights in August 2014. There was a big bunk bed, a self bulid couch, one table and a small shelf which was sufficient for two nights. Unfortunatly it was not really clean. Meaning the was a lot of dust, dead flys and the cuchions were really old. and it was hot ;)... More

Arrived. Greeted with bizarre rule book which went into ridiculous details (don't put ash in the flower pots) and had a kind of joking theme that didn't really work. The place did not feel that welcoming generally, or as another traveler put it, it felt "tense". After coming back from an evening meal I was saying good night to a... More

Hostel looks really nice, cosy and relaxed. Fine breakfast, rooms and bathrooms. The best about this hostel is how it looks, the people, the location and all the activities they organize. Sleeping is only not very good: the whole hostel is open, so you can hear everything and everyone... If they do something about that, it would be the best... More

Casa Caracol is one of those hostels you find once in a blue moon and never want to leave - many don't! Colourful small rooms, an amazing rooftop terrace with hammocks if your budget's tight, a starlit open air shower on the roof, pancakes for breakfast and always something delicious for the evening meal - all cooked by the staff...
