A beautiful hotel. We stayed in a great junior suite which was very well appointed but a little tired. The food in the hotel was first class and the majority of the staff excellent. The two disappointments were 1- the Pool Area, We wondered why it was always so quiet and a visit for a swim explained it all-- the... more

The hotel is fantastic. We had a lovely stay. Our room was very spacious and clean. The bed was a little hard for me but that is the only fault I could find. We enjoyed some lovely Tapas in the hotel bar and would definately stay here away. The hotel has good garage parking. more

As befits a former monastery, this hotel was very peaceful. The marble and tiles add to its ambience. My wife and I stayed here as part of a golfing package and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was terrific, breakfast excellent and staff very helpful, despite not being very good English speakers. They tried very hard but are obviously more comfortable... more

I visited this hotel with my boyfriend on a spur of the moment decision. We got a great deal of 43 euros a night, including breakfast, which I figured was because it was that quiet time just after New Year and just before everyone goes back to work. However, as it turned out, the hotel was fairly busy and had... more

We stayed here on a pre Christmas break combining Cadiz and Gibraltar. Although the hotel is in El Puerto de Santa Maria there is a very good catamaran service over to Cadiz for a knockdown price of €1.95 each way. Parking in Cadiz would be a nightmare so this is a bonus. The Monasterio San Miguel is a truly splendid... more

Spent a couple of nights in the Monasterio San Miguel, 3 rooms all overlooking the pool. Bedrooms and bathrooms in all rooms, warm and clean as was hotel. Friendly helpful staff at reception, providing us with information on trains, ferries etc. Breakfasts were wonderful, head waiter and waitress, very efficient. A pleasant 2 day experience, superb value at only 50... more

We stayed here during our round trip in Andalusia and we regret it very much, because they treated us so unfriendly that we wanted to leave immediately. It was terrible! The waitress at breakfast was very rude and unfriendly. Maybe this was because we didn't speak Spanish and we were dress casually and not in suits. And we couldn’t sleep... more

We booked a Superior room with Balcony for 14 nights which we were given. However the sound proofing of the rooms is non existant and the kitchen ventilation is pumped into the roof space. Therefore being on the third floor we got all the cooking smells. However the rooms were cleaned to a high standard and the maids worked long... more

We were so impressed with this magnificent building when we were booking in for our pre-booked one night stay ,we asked if we could stay for two nights - a bit impulsive perhaps because we hadn't yet seen our bedroom. However, we were not disappointed with our room which overlooked the swimming pool and garden. Except for the sparrows coming... more
