I was very puzzled by the previous bad reviews. I found this place to be an excellent value for the money, and definitely on a par with good hotels in other small German provincial cities (this isn't going to be the Berlin Ritz, folks: you're in Jena!). It was quaint, charming, quiet, and clean, and the heating was still on... more

This is definitely not a hotel to be recommended. I fully agree with the earlier review: sterile atmosphere, even signs of dereliction, filthy restrooms, and staff at the reception turned out to be unfriendly and not really helpful. For some bizarre reason the hotel appears to be 4-star-rated, which is ludicrous. There are certainly much better places to stay in... more
