We stayed in a room down in the cellar and it was surprisingly good - very large room, great natural light and an amazing price. On the top of that, the staff is super helpful and friendly. Definitely some plus points there. Finally, the location is also ideal. Very quiet, but yet very close to some of the main attractions.

A second visit, in November, to this small hotel in the middle of Erfurt. Nothing out of the ordinary, but all the basics there. Staff particularly friendly and helpful. Room this time was at the back of the hotel, overlooking a building site, so perhaps it will be a little more attractive next time.

This is a lovely hotel situated perfectly in the centre of the old town. The reception staff were very welcoming and the room large and comfortable with all that was needed for a pleasant stay. Breakfast at €5 was excellent value and offered a great range of hot and cold options plus the lovely coffee that is served in German... More

Very nice hotel with perfect location in the old town. The hotel has its own private parkingplace. Ten out of ten points to the reseptionist, who gave us a very warm welcome and a lot of information about Erfurt and its suroundings.

This is the kind of hotel that Germany does so well: small, family-run, with good facilities. Built in 2002, it's modern inside and a contrast with this city of venerable history. Check-in was a little unwelcoming, but the rest of the time staff were helpful; good breakfast (real scrambled egg) and free wifi (which, mysteriously, one had to sign a... More

My wife & I stayed here for 2 nights during a drive across Germany. Without a personal recommendation, we weren't sure what to expect, but were very pleased from the moment we arrived. The people at the front desk were friendly & it helped that their English was much better than our German, which actually doesn't happen everywhere in the... More

Hotel Am Kaisersaal is located close to the pedestrian area in a great location. There are several restaurants in the same street and within minutes you are on the old town square, in the main shopping district or at the Kramer brucke. The hotel welcomed us with hot gluhwein. The rooms are modern and well furnished, the beds and showers... More

We have just come back from a visit to Thuringia and stayed 2 nights in the Hotel am Kaisersaal. We had wanted a hotel near to the Old Quarter and in fact the hotel was just a minute's walk away from the Kramerbrucke (Merchants' Bridge). It's in a quiet location and has a car park at the rear of the... More

My wife and I stayed here for two days during the past Reformation weekend. It was a simple yet elegant facility. It was very clean and had a wonderful breakfast buffet. Located within walking distance of all major old city tourist sights. Several good places to eat nearby. More than willing to return for a longer stay.
