I was quite disappointed with this intercity hotel which claims itself as a 4 star hotel. This is no air conditioning in the room. Since my room is facing west and it can be quite hot. I tried to open the window to get some air at night. I did not expect all the bugs and insects flew into the... More

The German Railways hotels, called InterCity Hotels, provide simpleish but convenient and reliable lodging service right next to major train stations. A special feature is that one gets a free pass for local mass transport for the duration of one’s stay. The Erfurt one is in my judgment a particularly good one. I was booked into it because of a... We spent two nights in this hotel which is literally next door to the railway station. Staff were efficient but aloof. Our room was on the third floor and on the western side. The full force of the sun remained til very late making it difficult to sleep as there was no air conditioning. A small desk fan was provided... More

As almost all other hotels in this chain, the Intercity Erfurt is also located practically on the train tracks at the modern-looking Erfurt main station. We noticed that there seemed to be rooms in the tower, and the friendly check-in staff then changed our room to give us one in the tower area. Although the mediocre mattresses, the small “built-in”... More

Having stayed in the company's Dusseldorf hotel I thought this would be an ideal base for visiting Erfurt and the surrounding area and so it proved. Right next to the station and less than 30 minutes from the airport on tram 4 (14 minutes from plane touching down to getting on tram!). Rooms were standard but adequate with usual single... More

Pretty much does what is needed and is next door to the main station and an easy walk into historic Erfurt (or take the tram as your hotel stay includes free local public transport). The rooms are reasonable size and fairly basic but fine for a few nights. Smallish bathrooms but a great shower to freshen you up. The buffet... More

My husband and I just spent two nights at the InterCityHotel in Erfurt (December 16-18, 2014) while on our honeymoon and we knew within the first 24 hours this is a chain of hotels we will without a doubt book while on holiday. The front desk staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We arrived from the train station at 3:00am... More

Right next to the train station which made our dash to catch the train to the Franfurt airport with a couple of rolling bags very easy. The hotel is an easy walk to all the places we were visiting: The Alte Synagogue, The Kleine Synagogue, the Neue Synagogue, the ancient mikveh, the church where Bach's parents were married, and the... This hotel is by the station (the reason for my choice). It is clean and functional although I found it slightly tired in some respects. Plenty of places to eat nearby, and you get an all day tram ticket with your stay. Unlike other travellers the wifi was free and fast

A reasonable hotel adjacent to the railway station, which makes it pretty convenient for travelers arriving/departing by train, but, although clean, the entire building requires a general overhaul. The rooms are simple and can be noisy, when facing the railway station and the station's square. They have recently installed a free W-LAN, but it is pretty slow and does not... More
