I have travelled extensively in Noth America, Europe and Africa, staying in a wide range of accommodations, including those without basic amenities such as electricity. I consider myself well-acquainted with hotels, therefore, and although the Zumnorde Erfurt has a lovely setting, I would not recommend it to a dog! The staff are ambitiously rude, the room (a supposed ferienwohnung) lacks... More

Hotel Zumnorde is so well reviewed (for its ideal location, within walking distance of the major sights, as well as its cozy atmosphere) that it seems superfluous to heap on more compliments, but I'll go ahead and do so, because of the excellent service, which I think is second to none. I emphasize this point because we walked in to... More

Erfurt is probably one of the most underrated medieval beauties among the German cities. Once a town of rich merchants, its core had largely been abandoned during the socialist post-war period and remained intact as a historical ensemble. Beautifully restored over the past two decades it is now a spectacular attraction, full of life, and with nice restaurants abound. Hotel... More

We stayed two nights in a suite with our two small children. Erfurt really is an undiscovered gem! The hotel was in a great location- we didn't use any public transport (apart from a day trip to the Warburg Castle) The suite was huge with plenty of room for the four of us. The real highlight was the breakfast- very... More

An old hotel but, oh, so nice. Wifi was quick and easy. Wonderful location in the heart of the small & lovely city. Large, clean room, nice bathroom, room was on city street but not bothered by noise (tram during day). Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. I did check out the very nice restaurant connected to the hotel but... More

A delightful hotel on the main street of Erfurt. Staff are courteous and polite. Our suite was huge, consisting of large bedroom and spacious separate lounge plus large modern, super-clean bathroom. There is no safe deposit in the room although security is good at the hotel. Access to all rooms is by lift (elevator) from side entrance to first floor... More

A wonderful private hotel, in the center of Erfurt, professionally operated, excellent value for money. If you go to Erfurt, we recommend staying in this gem. The staff are courteous, friendly, competent, helpful, polite. The room was excellent and spacious, the bed comfortable; the bathroom modern and spotless. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful and sumptuous. In addition, the restaurant... More

This is a nice hotel. The staff is courteous and helpful. The location is close to historic sites, shopping and restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast had the freshest and widest selection that we experienced anywhere in Germany. It was a little expensive.

For once it was not one of those big chain hotels that we ended up on when we were invited to Erfurt for the 2012 culinary olympics. This wery nice and family runned hotel was more than we expected. Everything from the rooms and reception to the breakfast buffé and the restaurant with the bar was wery good. Nice atmosphere... More

Considering the price i paid and the looks outside and entering through a side street I didn´t expect much of the hotel. The reception area is also not very spectacular and has an 80ies appeal. But our more than made up for that first impression. It was quite spacious and fully equipped. There were bathrobes, slippers and everything was impeccably... More
