Hotel is hard to locate without GPS but the location is excellent for the castle view. Otherwise it's average. Room was big but not bathroom. More of a business hotel. Just functional. And plastic like curtains to close at night. Breakfast was good.

We spent one night here with German friends. The hotel is very comfortable with generously proportioned rooms. The breakfast buffet typifies all that is great about German food - loads of choice - fruit, cereals, yoghurts, bread, cheese, meats and drinks. However, the view of Wartburg Castle from the terrace is truly stunning. Friends and colleagues questioned why we wanted... More

Excellent, beautiful hotel close to the castle. My room was nice and spacious with a perfeclty clean bathroom. No AC though so it tends to be on the hot side. Even the view is great from the room. Wifi is free although not very fast. When I arrived Jana at the reception checked me in very quickly, gave all necessary... More

My daughter and I spent two nights at Hotel Haus Hainstein. The staff was kind and courteous and check-in was quick and efficient. Our twin room was very comfortable with great beds and a good shower. The rooms were very quiet and the views from the hotel are amazing. We ate both nights in the restaurant and enjoyed good German... More

Another stop on a motorcycle tour. Tired and hot after hundreds of miles we were greeted by a very helpful staff member on reception. Rooms are clean and appear freshly decorated. Nice view of Wartburg castle. Barbecue buffet was great value. The hotel is up a very steep hill so we didn't fancy going into town and stayed in the... More

We spent one evening at the Hotel Haus Hainstein, and the staff was most professional - kind, courteous, helpful, etc. The evening meal at the hotel restaurant was superb (more food than we could possibly eat), and the buffet breakfast was also excellent. with a nice variety of meats, cheese, smoked salmon, rolls and breads, in addition to other breakfast... Haus Hainstein is very special. In many ways it's rather a trip down memory lane than just another commercial hotel. You'll find here traditional hospitality in a relaxed, yet stylish ambience. Nice rooms, all with a view, and a rich buffet breakfast would be reason enough but there's more: a pleasant atmosphere with happy family idylls and a lot more.... More

Stayed here with family for one night in August. We had booked a room for 3 and got a very spacious room with a large double bed and an extra bed for our daughter. The room was comfortable, clean and in a quiet corner of the hotel (room 255 on the first floor with nice views of the town of... More

Lovely hotel in it's own grounds on the top of a hill facing the Wartburg. It is a steep walk to the old town from here, so please bear this in mind. We had a large, nicely decorated and appointed room on the top floor overlooking the forest and castle. However, no room safe or fridge/minibar in room. Good breakfast.... More

Stayed here with my family in July. Right in the mix of 19th Century mansions and only 500 meters walking to the Wartburg Castle. Wonderful location overlooking the hills and very good restaurant. Ample free parking and nice breakfast. Reasonable rates for a quality 3 star hotel. No separate bar and not every room has AC, but everything is really... More
