Hotel Anno 1216 is in the heart of the city, and offers a perfect accomodation: spacious room, well designed interior, and a really great shower. Nice restaurants nearby: check Tripadvisor! We have only missed air conditioning with temperatures reaching 30 degrees ( but agree that these are exceptional at the 'Ostseeküste'.

A lot of the places I stay pretty quickly blur into a vague recollection or even disappear from memory completely. Anno 1216 is one of a handful that will most likely be preserved in my memory - and mostly for good reasons. We had an enormous room with ornate plasterwork on the ground floor. It even had a little balcony... More

I can find no fault with this lovely hotel. An old house meticulously preserved and fitted out on the inside. Signs in the room explain it's history and layout. The room I had (No. 1) was very tastefully done and very convenient. Every small detail was clearly designed for the comfort of the guest. The service was prompt and gracious... More

This hotel is in a wonderful old building and my room was very comfortable, but a problem for me was that my room (number 1, a single room) was on the ground floor, right off the lobby, and faced onto the street. This didn't feel very private, and I later found it was impossible to sleep with the window open... More

The Anno 1216 is located within the historic city walls, at a stone's throw from Lübeck's pedestrian zone. The medieval building has been restored very tastefully and with attention to detail. The rooms are cozy and don't lack any of the modern appliances. The receptionist made us feel very welcome, as guests of the house rather than clients. Very recommendable!

My husband and I stayed here for three (3) nights, and we hadn't slept so well in ages! The hotel is very well located, only about 2 and a half blocks from the city center. The hotel is very charming, with an excellent (although a tiny bit expensive at 15 euros per person) breakfast. The room is spacious, there are... More

The hotel resides in a totally renovated building from 1216, done with great style. Location is central, from the hotel we could easily walk around in the central island of Lübeck. The service is impeccable: instead of the usual breakfast buffet, you are served individual plates, and you can order eggs cooked as you wish. Throughout the day, the receptionist... More

So there are no elevators and you and the innkeeper have to carry your bags up the steep flight of steps. So there is no one on staff after 7pm. Those are the negitives..the rooms are glorious (we were in a double #10). Wifi fast, and many many available outlets for recharging. Great bathroom, many places to stow your gear.... More

The renovation that created this hotel was spectacular. It is a very attractive, stylish, modern hotel in a very old building right on the canal. But . . . aside from breakfast, there are no services. No air conditioning, no bar or restaurant, no elevator (20 steps) and no one on duty or in the building at night.
