This hotel is situated quite some distance outside Kiel by a marina that was closing for the winter. The owner spoke German very quickly with a very strange accent and made no attempt to understand my German. He didn't try to understand a word of English or Dutch, but he understood cash upfront (no credit or debit cards). The room... More

The Gode Wind Hotel seems pleasant enough from the outside. Once within its walls one is confronted with a landlady from hell. The landlady was unfriendly from the start and things didn't get better. We had to pay cash in advance, which I found strange. The room itself was OK (if you like kitsch), and clean.
