We stayed for three days at the Schweriner Hof during our two-week honeymoon in Germany in August 2001. We were delighted with the room, the location, and the elegant old building, but most especially the service. I had come down with a cold that week, and the hotel people were fantastic--making me flasks of tea to take up to our room, directing us to the nearest Apotheke, and everything. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and the hotel is walking distance from antique shops, bookstores, the Holstenstrasse pedestrian mall, and the Karstadt dept. store. From here we drove up the coast to visit Schleswig and the Viking Museum at Haithabu. Can't wait to go back!
