What a great place to stay in L.Wittenberg. Stayed here twice during my bicycle trip in Germany and enjoyed it very much. Speaking of "room with a view" ! The hotel is small with only 8 rooms but has a very nice breakfast room and restaurant. The building is quit old, built in 1391, but has all the modern conveniences. The rooms were very clean. We selected this hotel because it is located next to the Wittenberg chuch with Luther Thesis door. The peacefull location is about 200 meters from the main square. First of all, the hotel is excellent with email correspondence relating to your stay. Second , the town itself is an outstanding spot to overnight. Multiple food choices and walkable. The location is fantastic. Once you figure out how to get to their parking lot, you're all set. This quite hotel is in the middle of the historic centre of Lutherstadt Wittenberg across of the Schlosskirche. This is were on October 31, 1517, Luther nailed his 95 theses against the selling of indulgences at the door of the Church, marking the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. My husand and I stayed at this hotel for one night in November. We payed 94 euro for a double room which also inlcuded breakfast. Germany is one of the more inexpensive countries to visit in western Europe so I probaby could have stayed at a nice hotel in Wittenberg for much cheaper than this but I chose this hotel... More

We stayed in the 'Peter the Great' room. A bit on the expensive side, but if you're in Wittenberg on the Luther trail, there really is no better place to stay. Even if a person is NOT interested in history, this hotel will stir interest. For Luther fans nothing can compare. Waking up next to the Thesentuer is an unforgettable experience. According to the locals we talked to in Lutherstadt Wittenberg this is one of the more expensive hotels in town. It is probably also the best, and in our opinion was quite reasonably priced.
