The hotel is ideally located just a short walk from the railway station. Upon arrival you know you have arrived somewhere special - the doormen are welcoming and very helpful. Very friendly welcome, from bellboy to guest service agent and waiters at the lobby cafe. Newly renovated rooms beautifully appointed. View from room was magificant. Like the Westin in Berlin this is an old DDR hotel with a marginal "makeover". The renovated rooms are adequate in decor, quality and utility. The beds were soft and nowhere near "heavenly", though the linen was typically German crispy clean and immaculately white. The hotel design is wonderful. We were really impressed by the renovations. If you like current design this is it.
