Let's say true - this is hostel, not hotel and there are private and shared rooms. I didn't feel warm hospitality. Everywhere clean, but room too small with view to noisy railway. Bed doesn't comfortable... I think many people made new people in that bed in my room. Please note: check-in time 3p.m. and check-out 10a.m. In result you will... More

Stayed here for three nights in a twin private bathroom. The reception area (the only FREE wifi area) lacks soul and is uncomfortable. Staff were ok, however two that we encountered were rude and not very helpful. I got the impression they didn't want to be there. Cleanliness wasn't an issue, until I dropped something under the bed. When I... More

I have stayed in these A&Os in Vienna and Munich, and this one was very similar. As others have noted, it is a bit of a trek from the train station and it was difficult to find with my luggage the first day. After that, I found the metro connection and getting back and forth to the downtown area was... More

Like any other A&O hostel, close to Dresden main HBF, can be called walking distance depending on your luggage ;) ... room was clean.. internet in room, breakfast at extra change .. free internet available in reception area.. but can't guarantee the strength and speed..2 Turkish Donner kebab shops across the street.. Aldi supermarket adjacent to hostel.. bus no 66... More

Our stay at A&O was quite satisfactory - rooms small, but quite new and clean, breakfast was very reasonable and quite extensive. However - we booked with this hotel on the proviso that it was close to the train station, and after exiting the HBF, you see a sign "400 m to A & 0" - it's not, it's at... More

We'd booked ahead from the Hamburg A&O and saved 10%. Like the Hamburg hostel it is close to the station and not in the best area of Dresden. Rooms are large and clean with tv and services. Breakfast was not included but was only 5euros for the full A&O brekky, very good! We were given vouchers however for a complimentary... More

Yes, this is a hotel and hostel, but it is nice and clean and not a party hostel or anything like that. It's about 2 blocks from the Dresden hbf station and 15 minutes from the "main strip". We paid 44$ for a double room with private bathroom and were really happy. Yes it's basic, but do you really NEED... More

Stayed in the Hotel section. Staff were extremely helpful during our 3 night stay in early September; they gave us lots of useful advice. Room was average size but clean and warm. Hostel/Hotel is well situated with a fun tram ride into the centre, starting only 150 metres from the door. Walk to the Frauenkirche takes 25 mins but you... More

Stayed there for one winter night in December. It's very basic, with small rooms, but rather comfortable. It's ten minutes from the train station, but to the city center it's a good walk -- not less than 20 minutes, and it may not be very enjoyable when the temperature is around 15ºC bellow zero. Good breakfast.

Stayed in the hotel section - room small but perfectly functional. Not quite as close to the Hbf (main station) as it looked on the website, about a 10-12 minute walk. Only gripe was that I booked via hotels.com - had I booked direct via A&O then I would have got the wi-fi for free despite paying the same price.
