We arrived by train, so only a couple of hundred metres to the hotel. Friendly desk staff, with good English. Short walk to the Old Town, via the shopping district. On site Restaurant food was great, especially the Snitzels (what else would you eat in Germany) and good value. The waitress was a little 'grumpy', probably just having an 'off'... More

We (me, my spouse and son) stayed at the hotel Kipping for three nights at the end of November 2013. Strongpoints of the hotel are free wi-fi access, good location near the train station, own parking lot and tasty fruitful buffet breakfasts. On the other hand there were some reverses those limited quality of our stay in hotel. The biggest... More

I stayed at the Hotel Kipping in 2008,having arrived by train from Prague. Its location for the train station is little more than a hop, skip and a jump, and to walk to the old city centre is not hard on the feet. The breakfasts were typically German, generous in portions and excellent quality. The staff were very helpful, particuarly advising me... More

We stayed at the Hotel Kipping for two nights. We found the owners to be helpful and the room very comfortable. We had no problem with internet access. The breakfasts truly were gourmet with stuffed tomatoes, a variety of deviled eggs, 3 different kinds of yogurt and muesli, a variety of breads, cherry kuchen and other baked delights. Our only... Recently spent two nights with the extremely proper brothers Kipping. Having lived in Germany for 5 years, they are certainly the quintessential "all business" German. I think I may have been offended by their abruptness and lack of a sense of humor had I not understood them . Hotel was in a great location for arrival and departure from Dresden... More

We arrived by train and were happy to see that the Kipping was about a three-minute walk. The building is one of few that was spared during WWII bombings. Our room was plain but very comfortable. Breakfast was good. It's about a mile walk to the old part of town, through a pleasant shopping street.

We recently spent one night in Dresden at the Hotel Kipping. The hotel has a number of positives. 1) it's a short walk from the train station. We saw a number of tourists lugging baggage across Dresden. Not us. 3 minutes maximum. 2) It's very quiet. You would think that a hotel this close to the station would be noisy.... More

The hotel is within a block of the train station (very accessible), and the surrounding neighborhood is pretty. The breakfast was good, and we had a tasty dinner. The room was large with very high ceilings; bathroom was nice too except remember to turn on the shower and sink water at the controls outside the shower near the toilet; the... More

First let me say any wifi problems reported by other reviewers have been fixed. I'm sending this review from my room at the Hotel Kipping, and I've had excellent connection throughout my three night stay. The staff are excellent; any reviews citing unfriendliness overlook that we are in Germany, where efficiency and politeness are revered above coziness with strangers. The... More

The hotel is meticulously maintained, and has in-room unlimited Wi-Fi. The Kipping offers incomparable buffet breakfasts, with home-made delicacies and desserts, as well as 3 different egg preparations - scrambled, hard-boiled, and deliciously stuffed.
