Everything cost extra here, no information that the rate was excluding breakfast. Machines in fitness not working properly. Terribel and expensive WIFI that does not work! Extra bed for kid first not possible then possible at €30 (without breakfast). But the bar staff was nice.

This hotel has a stunning location and arts of it are pretty as a picture - the iconic view on the hotel brochure is of the old part of the hotel at the back, next to the river. The windows of the breakfast room look straight out over the river Elbe to the old city which is just a short... More

Starwood apparently bought a chain of the top former GDR hotels after the Wall came down and it really worked. This was my first time here but have stayed at the Westin in Berlin Mitte several times and had similar great experiences. Best location, top quality construction and top quality staff. Will stay here next time !

I have both very good and slightly discouraging memories of this hotel. Positives, the best bed I slept in of all hotels I've visited this year. Plus upgrading to the grand river view was money well spent. The disadvantages the view means you are not all that close to the action in comparison to the competitors. The main reception and... The main building was a kind of castle , nice and charming. We slept in this part of the hotel with a beautiful view over the river. The two sides wings have been recently built and are not pretty at all. The swimming pool is still from the 80' and the spa is very small. Breakfast room is huge! Overpriced.

Friendly helpful staff and good food. Very big rooms. Not so many TV channels. The beds are OK. No free WiFi! WiFi cost 17€/ day, and 75€ week. If you want to use your smart phone as WiFi hub you usually only get VERY slow connection inside the hotel. Even small e-mails took forever to download. Don't they have 4G... More

Go out through the back door of the hotel, cross the walkway (mis-named as mainly used by hundreds of cyclists usually pedalling flat out with total disregard for pedestrians - description now applies to any German city) and look accross the water meadows (they haven't built on theirs) and the River Elbe and you have Canaletto's famous view of Dresden.... Our view from the fourth floor was spectacular (we were upgraded to a top floor superior room) of the Dresden skyline across the River Elbe. Easy walk across the bridge into all the major sights. Breakfast was expensive at 21 Euros so we went out just round the corner into the new town where some excellent bakeries included the Dreissig... More

Out of any question, this hotel is well above average. Good location, very friendly staff and perfect breakfast. Minor inconvenience is a relatively small insufficiently air-conditioned fitness room with only 4 cardio machines which already deserves a replacement. Unfortunately, there were several moments which made me really unhappy: 1, Daily rate € 17,- for internet access is ridiculous 2, Bottle... More
