We stayed at Pension Konigswald upon first arriving in Germany for a month-long trip. We found it to be very comfortable and the staff to be helpful and welcoming. The building and grounds are beautiful. The building is historic and tastefully decorated and outfitted. The breakfast is outstanding, fresh and plentiful. We stayed in a little apartment in a detached building. Unfortunately, it was an unseasonably hot spell, and the bedroom is upstairs. Like many buildings in Germany, there is no AC, nor are there screens on the windows, so the bedroom did fill up with little gnats as the windows were wide open. They passed by morning, though, and were not that bothersome. We did not realize that accessing the bedroom would require navigating a steep, narrow spiral staircase, and at our age (somewhat advanced), that was a little difficult. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pension Konigswald and would definitely stay there again, but would make sure to request a room inside the main building.…

We had a great time at that place. There was a language problem between the lady and us, but communication was not a problem thanks to the perfect hospitality. Breakfast was at its best. We were given a special WC and a breakfast room. Furthermore, the location is great for transportation. Both tram and S-Bahn can be used easily in order to get the altstadt. Lovely holiday.

The room was clean and comfortable and the location was very near to the city. Although there was a language barrier between ourselves and the host, she was very friendly and did her best to help us understand what we needed to know. She checked with us what time we have breakfast and made sure it was all laid out for us at that time. We were staying in a room on the top floor where there was a slopped ceiling, this meant that in the bathroom there was no shower that you could stand up in so you had to sit in the bath to wash yourself. If you are driving it has a very narrow driveway to get into.

I stayed at this location, almost to the Dresden Airport. There was a Getranke Shoppe, Grocers with a great Deli and a Italian restaurant just down the street. The tram running down the street once in a while was the only negative thing I can think of. Breakfast is served in a kitchen and is all set up for you as you arrive in the morning. The house has a large back yard with a place to sit and enjoy a meal from the Deli down the street or a glass of wine before going out to dine. They only take cash, but this was not a problem with me.
