We stayed in a triple bed room and it was roomy for us 3 . The rooms and hotel are clean but rather belong to a bygone era design-wise. This could also be seen as charming depending on your outlook. The lift was really old old school! The breakfast was nice and adequate. WIFI available but not free. Location! beware,... More

Having stayed at the City Hotel in Saarbrucken now on three occasions, I have no hesitation in recommending it for good quality at a bargain price. Sure it is an older hotel but each time I found the room to be clean and the linens and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is equiped only with a shower but is adequate.... More

You definitely get what you pay for with this hotel. It is tiny and needs a facelift. There is parking but very little. We managed to get a spot and were charged 5 Euro. The rooms are really, really old. The beds were OK and did have comforters that were changed everyday, I think. The door/window was broken in our... More

I honestly doubt that this hotel will pass any half serious health control. It is the shabbiest things I have ever seen. Soiled carpets, dark and dingy all over the place. Corridors smelling of old cigarette smoke, bathrooms that were last renovated in the fifties. It is hard to believe that the University is considering putting their guests in this... More

I am staying here for a conference at the University with appr. 500 participants. This completely exhausts the local hotel capacity within 20 km around the city in all available categories. I registered late, and only by chance got a room here because someone just canceled. Don't stay here if you can avoid it. The whole hotel interior exhales the... More

Booked 2 single rooms, got one double instead. Hated it. Beds are uncomfortable. Some persons in the staff are not honest.

City hotel is located on the rather busy, unattractive Richard Wagner Strasse. The hotel itself, however, is on a back yard which is quiet. Also, Richard Wagner Strasse is the northern boundary of the Nauwisser area, which means that plenty of nice bars and restaurants are literally around the corner. Proper city centre with St Johanner Markt and Bahnhofstrasse (main... More
