Helpful, welcoming staff, great subtle lighting/ ambiance in dining area, very good food even though we arrived late - dined at 10.30 pm. Good bedroom design : eg not just a light by bed, but also one shining down to read; not just a jel dispenser when you shower, but one at bath level when using it for a bath....

There are two Mercures in Saarbruecken: this one (Sud) and Center. The main difference between the two is that because Sud is 3 km south of the center (800m from the French border) the price is around 60% of the other one.
This Mercure is seemingly an old Novotel, and has been nicely renovated. Everything was clean, spotless almost. No...

We stopped overnight here on our way to Austria, the hotel was easy to find well placed off the motorway. t was quiet and plenty of parking. The rooms are of a usual high standard for Accor Group Hotels. The food was of a good quality and plentyfull, the bar was well stocked. All in all an excelent hotel for...

If you're feeling low and you want to revel in it for a day or so, feeling sorry for yourself, this is the hotel for you. It's depressingly worn down, unclean with uninterested personnel. I am sure Norman Bates would feel at home here. Other than the long blond hair in my bed, which was not mine and the lipstick...

The service is good, the value for money is excellent, the location is perfect for a trip around Saarland and especially France but only in the case that you have a car. Public transport connections are not good and stop late afternoon

I stayed in this hotel for one night and didn't visit the city so I can say nothing about the location.
The rooms were clean. I had some problems with turning on the shower and I didn't like the bath. I think it is useless in hotels to have a bath instead of shower. It is uncomfortable.
Breakfast was good,...

I've stayed a few times here. Nothing new to mention. The hotel is clean, the beds are good and personnel is friendly.
There's just one point I'd like to make : overpriced breakfast.
It's not just this hotel, €14 per person seems to be standard price for breakfast at Mercure or Ibis.
At this hotel, breakfast is just wonderful. Nice...
