Room was clean and in great condition. Service staff was friendly. Location was within walking distance of the main train station. Breakfast was good. Internet worked great (which I am finding is unusual in European hotels), however, it was not free.

Mecure Saarbruecken City has a good location in the cnter of Saabruecken. The hotel is good and the restaurant has a good selection of food and wine. This was the second Mercure we stopped at in Saarbruken within 9 days and as the other is on the edge of town in an industrial est. this one couldn't be placed better within 3 minutes walk of the railway station. I stayed here for one night, despite arriving late I was able to have dinner and was served with a smile. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful too. Again, very friendly service. Only the internet is poor - you need to pay - very 2012! Needs to improve.

In this day and age Internet access should be free and freely available. In my last 11 days in Germany, in various hotels, Mercure was the only one which charged for internet in the room. Shape up guys,
