Possibly the best hotel I have stayed at. Having perused all the good reviews I went there with heightened expectations which were in no way disappointed. Many good words have been said about the breakfast and every one is true. The breakfast is an event in itself. I decided to not rush and spend the whole morning enjoying the breakfast... more

Super professional staff, friendly and emaculate. Location is 1km from the centre, quietly removed, sitatuated on a 'huegel' or 'hill'. The breakfast was a fine representation of the German Continental style, various sausage meats, cold cuts, some warm choices and special orders too, Cereals have a nice selection also. The Terrace overlooking the city is also to be tried, especially... more

Our triple was the classic style and thus it had a view right on to the bonnet of the cars parked outside the window. The view from this classic room (the cheapest version of their rooms) was the only negative thing of our stay. The room was quite and had a lot of space. There is no ventilation so it... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in February which is the off season for Trier. The hotel is a good 15 minute walk from the center of town, which in nice weather would be fine but not a good idea for winter weather. The good news is, you can easily park near town in the winter. Our hotel... more

I visited this hotel in September 2008 with some other friends on a touring holiday of Europe in our sportscars. What a great find this hotel is. Quiet location with really safe parking (garages are available for the really paranoid – but not really required) and tremendously helpful and friendly owners and staff. Not far from a quiet section of... more

Stayed here for one night to visit the Christmas Fair. The reception was very good with helpful staff providing all the information we needed for our stay including closing time for the fair and how to walk there. Check-in took moments and we were shown a very high quality room with a small balcony with a view over Trier. Bed... more

We spent 4 days at this lovely hotel in Trier, Germany. We stayed in one of the suites "Nancy" which had a lovely sitting room, large bathroom with separate shower and tub, and a large bedroom. We took a bus directly from the train station to the hotel which took about 10 minutes. The hotel is in a residential area... more

This hotel is a lovely find. I'd return again to Trier just to stay there. Front desk greeting was professional and friendly, with excellent English. Our room was very large, with a huge bathroom. The pool is immaculately clean, quiet and relaxing. Drinks are served poolside. The comlimentary breakfast has an incredible selection of high quality foods. Best free breakfast... more

Stayed here with my wife and a few friends for a weekend in September and could not have been more pleased with the coziness and excellent service of this hotel. Granted, its not a big hotel like a Marriott or Four Seasons, but if you're looking for a small independant hotel that offers you the same luxury amenities then i... more

The Hugel is a great place to stay and when you look around Trier at some of the other places you may have checked out on the i'net - you will be glad to chose it. Sometimes, it definitely pays to go up market rather than down! Very warm welcome - reception staff could not have been more helpful -... more
