After a long day of touring, we checked in and found our room to be stifling hot. No air conditioning was available, and so we opened the windows and moved our mattresses to a spot under the window! This was unfortunate as other factors, such as cleanliness and service were fine.

Location: The choice isn’t wide in Ludwigshafen, particularly for non-business travellers, and most hotels seem to define themselves by how close they are to BASF. I was quite impressed with this hotel in Ludwigshafen. I wasn't expecting much being that we were in a small town, but it was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were very well kept, the bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were luxurious. They had a wonderful breakfast and the staff was very accommodating.

The trick is here to take a superior room. The standard rooms are cell like with a bare brick wall and about 1m too small in each direction.
