If you are looking for somewhere different to stay away from the usual chain hotels, then Contel Koblenz is it! It is full of individual touches, with various pieces of sculture, art work & unique furniture around the place. It makes it feel like some thought has been put into the interior design, rather than just pulling it from a... More

If you want to go to a hotel where you will not be bored, go to the Contel Hotel. It is so different!!! it has White marble sculptures all over the gardens greek style, mixed with modern furniture and at the lobby it has the rear part of a small purple VW that serves as a seat, can you believe... We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of our Rhine River cycle tour. The bike storage area was impressive: three separate areas dedicated to bikes, which was well patronised. The staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. Our luggage had not arrived and they phoned the bike company on our behalf and then kept us informed on the... More

The Contel is a bit off the beaten path in Koblenz, just off the footpath by the Mosel River, about 2 km from the Deutsches Eck. This location does, however, contribute to the quiet and serene surroundings. The hotel staff is friendly and most competent. The restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast buffet, and the evening meals are quite good. During... More

Stayed for 3 nights last week on a business trip. This is a hotel with an unusual and quirky external appearance with a great position on the lower right bank of the Mosel approximately 1 mile via footpath from the Rhine/Mosel junction at Deutsches Eck. Its easy to get to by car, I walked late at night from Koblenz Bahnhof... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights , hotel rooms are fab staff efficient, evening meals are fine , wish we had tea and coffee in room, only one point to make breakfast is only for German taste but when in Rome as they say. Overall 7 out of 10

Such an unusual building with very comfortable rooms and green roofs. Location is somewhat of the beaten path with little public transportation. Unfortunately we were there when not only the WiFi wasn't working but also the phones were down (and we didn't have a cell phone). Staff at the front desk was not helpful in this situation. The breakfast buffet... More

Large, oddball, slightly dated (80’s) hotel with gaudy primary colour exterior and white stucco walls inside. Located in an industrial estate/commercial area next to the River Mosel 15 minutes walk from the centre of the old town. It appears to cater for weddings, other functions and business travellers as well as tourists. Free parking available in limited space underground carpark... More

This is a very nice hotel with a special interieur, with its own character. It has small but nice rooms, wellness facilities, good breakfast. Everything is clean, the service is good. The hotel is located close to the Mosel river, however in order to go to the old city center or to the river Rhine, you have to walk some... More

I have stayed here many times over the last 10+ years, primarily for business, usually for 4 or 5 days at a time. First impression is a whacky hotel, but it gets better and better as you explore it. Rooms have an interesting layout - not a cookie cutter chain feel at all. Beer garden is a big plus -... More
