A very good hotel, the rooms were clean (even if they had bars on the window). The staff were very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel . There was a good choice of food at breakfast. A very enjoyable stay ***

This is a fun idea, which has been well done. A former prison has been converted into a hotel. Single rooms, are basic former cells, which have been well renovated. Ok, so the toilet is in your room, the shower is down the corridor and the window is small and behind bars. BUT the bed was extremely comfy with a... More

Picked this hotel because it was inexpensive and had a nice location...close walking distance to the city center and Japanese garden. At first I wasn't sure what we'd gotten into when we went through the prison doors and parked below the concertina wire topped walls. The lobby was clean and neat; very friendly staff, who gave us recommendations for dinner... More

My son took me to Germany and planned the trip, so everything was a total surprise. I had no idea we would be staying in a prison the last night! The bed was comfortable enough, but it was really, really hot in the room. He was able to open the window for me. No screen, but the bats I heard... More

Fun idea, but make sure you clarify what you're getting. I stayed on business with only a certain amount authorized. I asked for the simple, small room and was given a deluxe room, even though I clarified I wanted the cheaper room. The next morning, I was hit with a much larger bill than anticipated. The clerk didn't seem to... More

Great value, clean rooms, awesome breakfast, Very freindly staff. Truely was an experience to sleep in a converted prison. Not far from the city center. For wifi, or good reception the thick walls make it impossible except for the reception area.

Nice experience to stay over in a converted former prison. One can choose between a small cell or a somewhat extended room. Good price for the offered quality. Lot of parking place and only 5 minutes walking from the city center.

It's a great place to stay. Nice people, and the hotel is very centrally located in Kaiserslautern - very close to the fantastic Japanese Garden. We have visited the hotel several times, and each time we have been very satisfied. However, only Internet access in the reception area.

Ever wanted to know how it is to sleep in prison? This is the chance without the need to commit a crime. This old prison has been converted to a nice hotel without loosing the flair. Thick walls, reception and bar behind iron bars abd if looking out of the window one can see the barbed wire.. Nevertheless i did... More

We got lost trying to locate this hotel at night. It's hard to find. The hotel was extremely clean and decor was modern (think IKEA). I picked the hotel simply because I couldn't resist staying in an old jail cell. Normally, I don't consider rooms without a private shower and that have bunk beds but I made an exception and...
