I spent one night here after reading the reviews on trip. I have to say I was pleased at the location. Only a couple of mins from hbf. Also only seconds from the shops and redturant. There is alot of building work going on in the street. So if you dont want to be woken by drilling at 7am this... More

I've stayed here a number of times over the last four or five years, albeit usually for only one or two nights at a time. I return to this hotel when I'm in Wuppertal for several reasons. It is very conveniently located, being only three to four minutes walk from Wuppertal Hbf (main railway station), and is also adjacent to... More

I have stayed at the Astor twice in the past five years. It's a friendly and pleasant hotel with helpful staff and smaller (but very comfortable) bedrooms. Situated right opposite the famous elevated monorail (main reason for my visits) it's literally right outside the Haptbahnhoff - main station - and a free ticket for the monorail is included in the... We stayed here for 3 days and it was really pleasant stay, except the air in room was a little bit stuffy and there was no air-conditioner or even fan. Everything else was fine, especially I enjoyed free tickets (you have to ask them) for public transport, because we used it a lot. Location quite good and convenient also, cause... More

This was our first visit to Wuppertal. The reason for the visit was basically to travel on the Schwebebahn, the unique hanging railway which runs through Wuppertal. Having always wanted to do this, we decided to get an Hotel near the Schwebebahn, namely the Astor. The blog on the Hotel website said that the Schwebebahn was only a minute from... More

Astor is a basic city centre hotel, very close to the unique local railway. The location is cool, breakfast the tipical german one, with a wide variety of quality food. Good place to stay for a few nights! Nice from them the free cofee at the reception.

I am generally cautious about hotels situated next to train stations as many of them tend to be dodgy, dirty and with low standard. But I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel Astor, which has none of the above. I wouldn' recommend it for a long-term stay but it's a good place to spend a night or two. I needed to... More
