My wife and I stayed at Schlosshotel Hugenpoet for 2 nights in April for a romantic getaway. Germany is not the obvious choice for that but we like small Leading Hotels and have been recommended Schlosshotel Hugenpoet by a friend and certainly didn’t get disappointed, the stay exceeded all our expectations. The "Hugenpoet Hotel" is definitely the best choice in Essen, if you can afford it. It's very expensive, but it's worth the salt. Luxurious, spacious rooms, elegant and tastfully furnished, partly with antiques. Fantastic and courteous service. The breakfast is also excellent. You can have it on your room as well. Excellent hotel. Very spacious rooms. Very good service and friedly people. Not cheap. Good breakfast. The main restaurant is very good. The small restaurant Hugenpöttchen offers regional cuisine. Good but not spectacular. Limited choice. more
