I booked my Very-Difficult-To-Please-Miserable-As-Sin In-Laws into this hotel and was shocked that they (the In-Laws) actually positively raved about the quality of service, standard of rooms and the dinner in the evening! If The In-Laws actually ever have something positive to say then believe me then that this is hard-won praise indeed. Would definitely recommend Landhaus Knappman and will be... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel twice within one week. Once on the way out and once on the way back. We can really recommend this as a great place to stay for the traveller. The owners/staff are very friendly and welcoming, the room we had was spotless and very comfortable (junior suite) and the hotel has a... More

We went there for lunch and found a very nice bar with good beer "from the wood" and a nice dining area. They specialise in local specialities and the Grunkohl is wonderful and I highly recommend trying it. The service was friendly and efficient and definitely is worth another visit.

I travel really a lot, at least 1 hotel per week. Landhaus Knappmann is truly one of the most welcoming, friendly and cosy hotel I have even been at. Great food (very German), excellent rooms, really polite and friendly stuff, nice German touch everywhere. And that welcoming beer and a farewell chocolate "for the nerves" are soooo appealing :) Hyatt... More

Have stayed here a few times for stop over between European destinations, and now it feels like staying with family. Restaurant food is great, friendly staff. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. They always make you feel very welcome upon arrival. Norman

We stayed here one night in a family suite. Bathroom was amazing. The proprietress greeted us warmly and helped us with our luggage. She was extremely nice. We ate dinner, which was served by the family, and was good. In the morning, we had a modest breakfast, chatted with the husband, and were on our way. We hugged the proprietress... More

I just spent 1 night in this hotel for a fair in Düsseldorf. First of all I have to say thanks to the owner, a very friendly man, who treated me like an old friend! The room was very comfortable and clean, bathroom with a big shower and courtesy kit. Good breakfast german style. Free wi-fi and free parking. Very... More

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 17 month old son to visit friends in town and had booked one of the Deluxe Suites (Friedrich-Arnhard-Scheidt Suite). The suite was very spacious and clean - simply impeccable. The breakfast buffet was great and the service was extremely friendly. An added bonus is the attached restaurant which allows for a great... I have thought for a couple of days whether writing this review or not. This is one of those rare hotel experiences that I'd rather keep to myself. I came to book this hotel quite late, during an exhibition in Essen (about 15 minutes away), fascinated by the excellent reviews this little countryside hotel had received and conscious that the...
